I’m trying to find a way to enter body fat percentage into the app - I have a higher muscle mass than average and I assume that this will drastically affect the resting and active calorie consumption.

The body fat percentage is not used for the Calories calculation, but if you want to enter it anyway, you can import it with the help of a simple CSV file that you import on the page https://connect.garmin…
I hate to say it but Money! The only way to input anything other than body weight is to buy the Garmin Scales. Which looking at reviews ares that great or accurate. The want to purchase the Withing Smart…
Why would Garmin not use muscle mass in calories burned? Metabolism is a key fitness factor and target. I am trying to love my epix, but this very elementary approach to the data makes all of it invalid…
I understand.
The only reason I tried it is because it is in the screenshot of the example on the Garmin site.
For people with Home Assistant there is an integration to Garmin Connect. This means that you can collect all kinds of data from any smart device and put it through automatically to Garmin Connect (with or without your own calculations).

The upload of my .csv file is succesful, but the Weigh-ins aren't updated. can anybody tell me what's not working?
can anybody tell me what's not working?
Hard to tell without seeing the data, but one possibility is that you chose the wrong date format, and the data landed under a different date than you expected. Another possibility is that you are trying to upload more than a single weight-ins per day.
Here's my .csv:
It only uploads successfully for me when putting the values in quotation marks. Is the upload still working for you? If yes, please post your data format.

When you use decimal commas, quotes are mandatory. If you use decimal dots, you do not need the quotes.

Yes, it still works, and the data format is still the same as posted on the first page of this thread:
Body Date,Weight,BMI,Fat "2022-11-03","71.6","22.6","14.4"
You are missing the BMI column - it is mandatory. When added, and the right options selected, your data imports fine
Use a plain-text editor such as Notepad for creating the file. Do not use any rich-text editors like Word or Wordpad. And avoid Excel!
Thx trux, I got it working. Do you know the name of the headers for Muscle Mass, Bone and Water?

Unfortunately it cannot be imported with the CSV file. Probably the only way to get it in is using Garmin's own Index scale. Possibly, connecting the scale to MyFintessPal (or entering the data there manually) and syncing it from there with Garmin Connect could do the trick too, but I am not quite sure MFP syncs anything else than the weight to Garmin Connect.
