Garmin Connect (version 4.62) stopped syncing steps to Apple Health

Since the latest update of Garmin Connect (4.62), it no longer synchronizes steps to Apple Health. I tried restarting the application, restarting iPhone, and reinstalling the application - but none of these solved the issue. Is anyone else seeing something similar?

Garmin - if you're listening, your advice/solution would be greatly appreciated.

  • Everyone: go to product support, start a chat if this is an ongoing problem and talk to the folks there, was a good, quick interaction and gets cases logged properly which they need!

  • I tried to chat, but every time I have been told, that all chats are busy. I am from Switzerland, in another time zone.
So I created a email and now waiting for a response.

  • Continued to research this strange behaviour and found one internet posting that suggested moving Connect down in the list of devices and sources in Steps in Health to third position, not second, not fifth, THIRD! And yes, if I move it down and back once or twice a day and wait patiently then everything syncs up and appears to behave. Utterly and totally bizarre but the most reproducible thing that I have seen so far. I will also add, as caring is sharing, that the latest iOS beta came out the other day and since loading that up I perceive that the double workout behaviour has stopped so that may or may not be true but if it holds up then seems to correlate with Apple being responsible, not Garmin
