- I did a 12km hike today which took 3 and a half hours and my active calories for that activity was 1331. I woke up, drove to the mountain, did my hike and then as soon as I finished my walk, I loaded the Garmin Connect app to look at all of the stats for my hike. I noticed straight away that my daily calorie counter said that I had burnt 2400+ active calories but my activity stats say that I had burnt 1331. I hadn’t done any other activity or exercise up to that point to justify why there was a 1100+ activity calorie difference between the two.
I know personally that 1331 calories is realistic, not 2400+.
Can anyone explain this? I’m curious to whether or not my watch is mistaking vibrations from driving as some form of exercise?
FYI I have a newly purchased Garmin Instinct 2 Solar.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Craig
