Direction audio prompts speak super fast, hardly understandable

The audio prompts (directions) speak so fast I can hardly understand. The system switches from a male voice speaking at normal speed to a female voice speaking really fast. I might be wrong but I think this has happened when I switched to a bike equipped with Ultegra Di2 R8170 connected to Garmin Connect and my Edge 530. All systems are up to date. Language is set to French.

    I am having the same issue since I have upgraded to iOS 16.1.1

    I cannot fix this issue, even with your trick. 

    Can you please clarify what do you mean by switching to another voice ? Do you mean another language in the GENERAL/LANGUAGE menu of the Garmin Connect app (or iOS settings)?

    On top of that, how and where do you reduce the speed of the voice setting ?

    If you are experiencing the symptoms described in this thread, please confirm that you have tried multiple combinations of Voice & Region settings as directed in Audio Prompts Are Too Fast Since Updating to iOS 16.0.

    1. Have you reviewed and followed instructions in the FAQ above?

    3. What iOS version is currently running on your iPhone?

    FRENCH, Siri Voice and all voices, voice speed to medium

    If you change the "speaking rate" to the far left (slowest), does that have any effect?  Is there a difference in speed when the phone demos the speed of the voice while in the settings and the actual speed used for audio prompts during an activity?

    Hi,

    I followed the latest instructions posted on the forum with IPhone and Garmin device up to date for all software and systems.

    There is no improvement. Much the opposite with now audio prompts switching randomly from one language to the other, speaking French at normal speed or super fast English during the same ride.

    Beside this issue that is not fixed, I noticed conflicts between the directions showed on the screen map and the audio prompts.

    There is no way to contact Apple support: no time and no taste to do so.

    just frustrated.
