Trouble with Fenix 6s pro staying connected.

I had a new Fenix 6s pro for Christmas 2021. I also have a new iPhone 12. My garmin will not stay connected to it. After every activity I end up having to uninstall the app, turn off the phone, reinstall it all, sometimes that works, sometimes it won’t. It took 3 hours today for me to get it to connect.

What am I missing? I shouldn’t have to do this every time. 
live just checked my phone again and it’s not even showing on the Bluetooth list!
