Edge 810 upload fail to IOS mobile

Hi,

Last couple of days, my Garmin Edge 810 has decided to not sync with the IOS mobile connect app for some recent indoor rides. Was working fine but now just spins and says upload failed.

I've done all of the following to try and resolve but still have the same issue:

I have so far:

Removed the Bluetooth devices from both IOS phone and also Edge unit.

Updated the IOS to the latest version as of 30/01/21

Updated the Garmin Edge unit with any new updates as of 30/01/21

Cleared out older ride data to ensure I have space etc ,so only now have this years rides.

Removed courses no longer needed.

Reconnected / Paired the Edge to the phone and accepted the Pin Pair code (so know its a new connection).

But alas, it sill fails to upload the indoor rides.

I know the Edge is connected as it tells me Download Complete so can see its doing somethings from IOS to the Edge unit.

My only other thought is that could it be that the indoor ride was following a course that was originally outside and converted to a course, but I then used it inside with GPS turned off and told it not to navigate to the start of the course? It recorded fine ,and I can see all the ride information by using Garmin Express to manually sync to the PC and not via the App, but I'd like the sync to work with bluetooth as it has for several years.

Any help appreciated.

  • phone and garmin are paired successfully, yet my ride will not upload

Sounds like you've got a corrupt fit file. Especially difficult, if not impossible to fix without a computer or at least an android phone. If there is any way to at least temporarily borrow a computer, I would do it and pull all the files off of the device located in in the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder (this should be standard maintenance, especially when having these issues). Then attempt a manual upload. of the missing activities.

If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file. It is likely corrupt. Attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.
  • I am having the exact same issue on my 810.  it only happens using Bluetooth uploads.  My problem started after I did a new software update.  I have done all the steps all the other guys have done. It’s not corrupt upload files as it syncs every time once connect to the USB.
is there a corrupt software file now causing the failed Bluetooth uploads??
seems odd it started right after I did a new software sync. Please help. Very frustrating!

  • I have the same issue with the Garmin edge 810: the upload to Garmin connect on my phone fails. Uploads via the pc do work. Has a solution to this issue been found?

  • I have the Garmin Edge 810 and Bluetooth uploads started to fail on me a couple of years ago. It's sure annoying and was a feature behind why I purchased it. I've been so used to manual uploads but they are failing on me. My Garmin Edge device feels almost almost now. Disappointed this has not been fixed by Garmin.

I would backup the non-synced fit files to your computer, then remove all of the activity fit files from your edge using these directions - Removing Activity Files

Then attach the problematic activity fit files here (see below) so we can have a go at repairing them so you can manually upload to Garmin Connect.
