I just tried to view my step total for the month of December 2020 and discovered that it is now showing weekly totals for the last year. I would much rather see totals from each month so I can compare.

New steps UI in the app, while being nice and modern, has some regressions and useless features.
New 1d overview is fine, 7d and 4w also.
But 1y overview is complete trash now. Why would anyone want date…
Yes just tried to do the same. This is not an enhancement. Can we have the old view back please?
Based on my incident submission yesterday, I already have an email exchange with Product Support. Sending screenshots of iOS and android app and detailed description of issue at the moment.
January 7th …
My opinion is that garmin doesn’t hear the voice of customers. See the discussion about incorrect distance in apple health for exemple...
No guarantee on the forums, as this is more of a user-to-user help forum. However, if you contact Garmin using their support center, you can get in direct contact with them and either create a case or have your name added to an existing case (as I have done here).
Another irritating thing I've noticed recently (I don't know if I had this from the beginning when they changed this yearly view). The vertical scale is completely wrong (look at the numbers). And apart from that my Polish version says... Daily totals, although the chart shows the weekly ones. Is there any kind of quality control in Garmin's development department?
I agree... The lack of a solution to this issue is hard to excuse.
Has anyone heard anything from Garmin about this? It’s been four months. For anyone seriously counting steps and comparing progress on previous years, it has essentially rendered the app unfit for purpose.
I’m on my fourth or fifth Garmin step-counter. I certainly won’t be buying another one.
I have tried several methods to get a response from them. I have emailed customer services twice, the first time I got a generic response to submit a suggestion, which I did. The second time this week, this is their response.
“Thank you for contacting Garmin Australasia. We are sorry to hear you're unhappy with the recent changes, rest assured this feedback will be added on to your account for review. We thank you for your continuous support with Garmin.
If you have any other questions and or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us through email. Alternatively, please feel free to contact us on 1800 235 822 EST (Australia), 0800 427 652 (New Zealand) 8:30am-5pm (Mon-Fri).”
A pretty useless response. I have also sent them a message on Messenger which has been ignored and put a comment on the App. I’ve also pointed them to this forum to see all the comments.
Alas I feel they are not interested. The step graphs are now useless for seeing how you are tracking by day, week and month. Also the fact the the week changes each day, rather than sticking to Monday to Sunday. Really need everyone to bombard Garmin’s customer service team with messages.
This turned my watch/app from a great tool to something I regrettably use and has forced me to look for another product/brand. I have brought 4 Garmen watches I’m the last 8 years. I won’t buy a 5th if this doesn’t get fixed..
Does anyone have any recommendations on other watch and apps? If so why do you recommend- what are the benefits.
I switched from apple watch to garmin and I was very satisfy about the garmin app
then, disaster after disaster, like double counting step+run in apple health, like view of monthly/yearly steps.... I’m not satisfied anymore
I don’t know how polar works or coros (new brand seems hear the voice of customers)
