Connect 4.37 no longer syncing with with Apple Health.

This morning (I’m in Europe), 13. Nov 2020, Garmin Connect had updated to v4.37 overnight.

Now Connect will sync with my Approach S60 and my Index Smart Scale, but not with Apple Health - and what’s more, all the previous data for the last few years have been deleted from Apple Health as well. The data is in Connect, but not in Health.

iOS version 14.1

  • I'm thinking to do the same. This summer, I also had to pay 233€ to change my watch just for 10 days over guaranty time !!!

  • Good! Can I ask you how export data from GC.

I use third party app to export from GC versus apple each activity (run, bike, swim), but I didn’t find anyway to export steps, calories, etc

    Disappointed

  • I'm reluctant to answer here as the method involves some scraping the GC web.

  • Scraping is not an illegal thing most of the times. And when it comes to your own personal data, I would say it’s definitely not a problem (The problem being to have to do it by yourself in place of having a solution provided by Garmin in our case).

    So here you go :

  • Got another response from Garmin which made me slightly hopeful that they might actually restore the data

Thank you for coming back to us. As mentioned this is currently being worked on with Apple to look to have this data restored and to stop this from happening with these two apps. We are unable to advise of anything further until we have an update on this, I apologise for the delay in this process.

    Kind regards,

  • Bastien thank you very much!!!

  • Ditto :) Yes, that tool works great :)

  • You are welcome. There is other projects btw. And I hope you are used to python or that you are quite a tech-savy person otherwise it might be of non use for you. (Should have said so in the previous post)

  • Even with the eagerly awaited software update, the sleep issue (not counting rem sleep in Apple health) still exists. Disappointed
Are we sure all systems are working properly post their hacking?

  • Frankly I don’t understand why any of the sync issues exist. This should be straightforward to both reproduce and fix. Sleep issue of not tracking REM sleep, not tracking active calories and distance in proper association to workout activities (not creating the actual calorie and distance related records), etc. should all have been resolved or at least resolved in the forthcoming update. This really should be basic stuff for the development team. The APIs all exist and many, many other services are all doing this correctly. There is no excuse for Connect not working.
