  • The bug mentioned is interesting and a good find, but I think it only explains unusual instances when the Body Battery is stuck unexpectedly at 5.

Otherwise, you need to look at all metrics together to determine if it’s a software issue, or accurate. I have times when my Body Battery bottoms out but I can always link it to over exertion, poor sleep, stress etc and the metrics recorded. The first things I’d check is sleep quality and stress levels as these should positively or negatively affect the Body Battery. If they don’t then there’s an issue. The subjective question of accuracy is a different story. It’s still my most favourite Garmin feature and for me very accurate but I do wear my watch 24/7!

  • I noticed exactly the same thing, body battery stopped working one day (also stress monitor).  I simply rebooted the watch, leaving powered down for 5 min and it seems to be working now.

  • I am having the same issue, my garmin says my sleep recovery is like 4 after 7 hours of rest. Even if I was stressed while sleeping (I’m not) that seems ridiculously low. Is there a place to go to verify all the sensors in the watch are working correctly and this isn’t a manufacturer defect?

  • This was exactly what happened to me. I ran into a friend at the end of my training and forgot to save my training (I stopped it, didn’t delete it, simply forgot to save it after my recovery heart rate). Only 2 days later when I wanted to go for a run I discovered I still had to save my previous training. During these two days my body battery dropped to 5 and stayed there. Once you do another training and save it, wait for a night and the body battery will work again.
