iPhone 7 iOS 13.2.2 with new connect updated app ver 4.24.2.2 not syncing to Edge 510 device.  Bluetooth does connect, syncing to account does not.  Must connect to computer via USB to upload to account.  Already uninstalled app, removed device, turned phone and device off.  Turned on, reinstalled app, reconnect Bluetooth.  Sync issue remains with red exclamation in Sync Failed message, device connected error

  • Sorry - found updated app version ok.

Question about software for 510 unit stands.  Thanks.

  • Ok, now I answered my own question again - I updated software on to the 510 unit to version 6.whatever.  I had not updated it since purchase.

New question - is there a way to get automatic updates for the Edge 510 unit software?  Or perhaps there won't be an more...looks like the last one was 2017.

    Thanks,

  • This was resolved in the latest version of the Garmin Connect App (4.25.1).

So when will this be fixed and where is the link for the update?

Updated to the latest 510 software, deleted all files, updated latest GC software, latest iOS and still showing sync error (red exclamation).

  • This was resolved 6 months ago. If you're still having sync issues please check out this thread: Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide. It's an extensive list of things to check. If still no joy, best to contact Garmin Support for further assistance.

  • I am having the same issue is was fixed before but back again now, just deleting app removing from blue tooth and reinstalling all again.  Only way for it to sync is via the computer at precent

  • that worked, removed the device from bluetooth, opened the app and deleted the device, reinstalled the app from app store, re paired the garmin with the iphone and resetup the app and it synced first time

  • My Garmin 510 randomly doesn't sync. Today I have turned off both my iPhone and Garmin device. Still not working. From experience, eventually it will. This is Garmin's view of how the "customer experience' should be for their customer. Rather than fixing the problem, the user is told to turn off their iPhone. My gosh, what an attitude toward the customer. My device is 6 years old and nearing replacement. Does Garmin really think I would buy another one of their devices, as good as they are, when periodically it randomly won't sync? They know about the problem, have for years, yet they don't care.  Hmmm....I guess Garmin thinks they have a monopoly! Wrong!

  • Over 2 years later and the same problem exists. Garmin has chosen not to fix the issue....sad.  Proves Garmin does not care about the customer once they get their money.  Wonder if Garmin or anyone could recommend a comparable non-Garmin device to replace my 6 year old Garmin 510?
