Unable to Sync after update to IOS 13.1.3

I have a Garmin Edge Explore and after upgrading my iPhone to ios 13.1.3 the Garmin is not automatically uploading to Garmin Connect anymore. Also manual upload does not work properly.

I have set the settings of the iPhone to the suggested settings but nothing works.

Garmin Connect app shows a green bullet to indicate it is connected to Edge Explore, but trying to sync is resulting in a red triangle indicating an error.

I use an iPhone X with ios 13.1.3

The Garmin Explore is on software version 4.24.0.17

  • Interesting. Not seeing that update available in App Store. What county?

  • Please do.  I have already fed back to support that this does not help me at all.  Suggest all with open support tickets do the same (update status after checking)

  • USA.  The update did not work until I did the following.   But this may or may not stay fixed.  Only time will tell.

    ununstall gcm.   On the phone.  Go into Bluetooth and forget the watch.  Reboot the phone and watch.   
    reinstall and set up gcm.  Pair the watch.  I can now sync an final have weather

  • To clarify, my activities would sync, but I could not get weather updates and I had just noticed that my VO2 Max had not updated in 3 weeks. When I downloaded the app update there was no change. I deleted my device from Connect and then added it (also deleted the Bluetooth connection in Settings).  When I reinstalled the device in Connect, I got weather working.  VO2 max is not showing any change. May need to do an activity and see if a new one will register.  I will add that the weather fix may be temporary. With the last Connect app, it would initially connect but then would not update.  I’ll reply again when I see if that is working, Good luck.

  • Nope. Dead again 3 hours later, sync error and weather not updating.   Garmin is crap.

    for me, with the latest firmware, it's even worse. When I try to link the fenix 5x plus again with GC, it's not even possible anymore! This is really bad. Very unhappy customer

  • Yep. Really get the impression they’ve added too much all at once and can’t handle the software. 

  • It's clear that it is an difficult job for the programmers of Garmin... unbelievable :-)

    Weather is also here, not updating... A 700 euro watch... I would expect a better support...
