Vivoactive 3 no longer receives text notifications since the iOS 13 update.

Question

Can&rsquo;t get text messages from my phone. It does show if I have an active phone call but I don&rsquo;t receive any notifications from text messages. I&rsquo;ve tried everything and have had zero luck. My watch did do an update today but it still doesn&rsquo;t work.

Well I have figured out what&rsquo;s going on. I usually have my phone set so I get a notification on my screen but the message content does not show. 
 settings > notifications > show previews 
 if it&rsquo;s set to always or when unlocked the messages get to my watch. I am unsure what the settings were before the iOS update but something definitely changed. It&rsquo;s working now so I guess this is the fix. This update changed many settings for apps that are very important. I lost background app refresh to an app that calls me out as a first responder. These updates can be a real pain.

For anyone who followed changing the notification preview and still didnt work, try doing this. First one worked with mine 
 To correct this issue follow the steps below: 
 Check Bluetooth Settings

From the iPhone, select Settings

Select Bluetooth

Under MY DEVICES select the " i" icon next to your Garmin device

Toggle Share System Notifications to on

Check Notification Settings

From the iPhone Settings, select Notifications

Set Show Previews to either Always or When Unlocked

Check Messages Settings

From the iPhone Settings, select Notifications

Under NOTIFICATION STYLE scroll down and select the Messages app. See screenshot below for example.

Toggle Allow Notifications on,

ALERTS options should all be checked

Show Previews must be set to Always (Default) or When Unlocked
