Lately livetrack stop working... The setup in Garmin Connect Mobile is correct. When I start an activity on my Edge 1030 I do not get the message Livetrack started but I can see the title pictogram in showing on the screen, livetrack is active on GCM, but no SMS and/email are sent. I'am on IOS 12.1.2. Help is welcomed.
I have been having the same issue for about a month now. This week, I did a complete reinstall including reconnecting my watch to my iPhone XS. After figuring out how to add contacts in, I should be fine. However, Livetrack consistently fails for me even after saying it's started. Or it shows me at the default map location in the middle of Africa.
With no indicators on the watch if LT is running, it's even more frustrating to not even know it has failed. And the LT fail messages go by so quickly, that they are easy to miss. (Garmin, please make this error require the user to clear the screen!)
My live track stopped working on my 1030 after the latest Garmin Connect update that changed the management of contacts. Had to switch all the options off, switch back on and add contacts again. Now works again.
At first mine had live track failed every time I tried it but after removing all contacts, turning everything off then back on and adding the contacts back, mine says live track started, then about 30 seconds later it says live track failed. However when looking at the link afterwards it appears it worked. -sa
Hi! I have the same problem with my fenix 5x plus. After start, I have the notification : livetrack failed. We had to record contact on the garmin cloud but it’s not working. :( and the last update of garmin connect change nothing
Hello, My Edge also not working with livetrack and when I try to configure it keeps asking permission to access contacts which then goes to the settings and there is no option to change anything. Go back to the app and the same message so cant even cancel the error.

Stopped working again (using Auto Start Mode) - not sending emails even though everything setup correctly and Connect gave a notification on phone that LiveTrack in Progress.
This all worked well before the GCM Contacts Update - VERY FRUSTRATING!!! Does this mean Incident Detection will be similarly unreliable now?
