Blank App Icon on iPad

Is anyone else getting the blank app icon on their iPad (mine is Air 2 with iOS 11.1.1) after updating to GCM 4.1.0.13 today? I’ve tried all the usual stuff: restart iPad, soft reset iPad (home+sleep wake button until reset), uninstall and reinstall GCM app; all to no avail. The app icon is fine on my iPhone SE and my work iPhone 6s Plus, so I think this could be one of those issues where the app devs haven’t included a correctly sized icon immage for iPad. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1274836.jpg

    Same for me. iPad Pro 9.7 running iOS 11.1.1 My iPhone SE is still running iOS 10.3.3 so I’m not sure if the problem lies with Garmin Connect or iOS 11. My Strava app has done the same thing. I noticed that while re-installing the Garmin Connect app the correct icon shows through during darkened install icon but changes to the blank one when installation completes.
  • Thanks for the confirmation and I too have the same issue with the Strava app. My work iPhone 6s Plus is still on iOS 10.3.3 and my iPhone SE is on iOS 11.1.1, with neither having an issue with either GCM or Strava app symbols. I guess the app developers could just say that the apps (both GCM and Strava) are only designed for iPhone and not iPad, but they must know iPad owners will install the app and it just looks messy.

    There used to be a way of submitting issues with the GCM app from the app menus, but I don't seem to be able to find it currently.
  • I’ve emailed a ticket to Garmin Support via https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?productID=125677#. For what it’s worth, I also contacted Strava who suffer the same issue - they’ve already acknowledged that they’re aware of the issue and are working on it.
  • I’ve had a similar response from Strava. Hopefully Garmin will be similarly aware and working toward a fix soon.

  • Despite app updates over the last few days, blank icon on Ipad still not fixed for me.
  • Fixed for anyone else? App icon still blank for me, on Ipad Mini 4.

    I'm having the same issue but only when on my iPad (iOS 9.3.5) Also unable to view routes from recent rides I've taken yet older ones are visible. Online to Garmin connect site and iPhone 6s are both fine.
  • I am experiencing similar issues on my iPad Pro 9.7 with iOS 11.1.2. The most recent update of Garmin Connect did not resolve this issue. The app displays the icon properly on iPhone 7 with iOS 10.3.3
  • To be fair, Strava haven't fixed their app yet either. Maybe just a difficult nut to crack or it takes time to get changes through the Apple app update process.
