Garmin Connect Sync on iOS 11

Since I updated to iOS 11, Garmin Connect Mobile no longer syncs with my Garmin Fenix 5S automatically via Bluetooth. I need to open the GC Connect App, and them manually click on the sync button (or do the same on my watch).

Is there any point logging a fault with Garmin or do they know and we just have to wait?

Same issue here. But this was on iOS 10 too, and updating to iOS 11.0.2 didn't fix it.
This regression was introduced between Garmin Connect Mobile version 3.22.1 and 3.22.2.8

Same here iOS 11.0.2 on iPhone 7 and iPhone SE, both Garmin Connect upgraded to 3.22.2.8 and sync stopped.
I've managed to get my iPhone 7 to eventually sync with my VivoFit - Cannot recreate the same with the iPhone SE and VivoFit 3 though.
I off-loaded the Connect app under settings - storage (to retain all docs and settings) and re-installed, then toggled Bluetooth on and off a few times, force-closed the app a few times and then it synced. I did not try to remove the pairing or tried to re-pair. It could have something to do with the bluetooth stack in combination with the new Connect app.
Not working on iPhone SE and VivoFit 3.
For now, I've manged to get the VivoFit 3 to sync via the ANT USB connector (came with the VivoFit) and Garmin Express on Windows 10 to sync to my Garmin Connect profile online.

I am using an iPhone SE with IOS 11, I upgraded the garmin app on Wednesday morning and immediately hit problems. Can not sync. Overnight, the app is no longer showing the device(virofit 3) and I can not add the device. It is the only item I use on Bluetooth. I have turned the phone off, I have turned the Bluetooth off and on again, I have closed all the other apps. I don?t fully understand some of the items in the thread where users have got it to work. Feeling a bit frustrated by this. Any ideas on how long garmin/apple might take to fix this?

The only workaround at the moment is to use an ANT+ dongle and a laptop with Garmin Express which will allow you to sync to their server.
But a proper solution will only be a new release of Garmin Connect Mobile: Garmin have recently made frequent releases, and hopefully we'll see something over the weekend.
Any other workaround I can only imagine working for other devices, certainly not the Vivofit 3.
I have a Vivosmart 3 and a vivofit 3 and the vivosmart works as before, but the vivofit 3 does not.

It's apple's iPhone store. They changed protocol two days ago and created problems with apps.
Another workaround is if you have android, you can install the same app and it will work just fine - my own experience.

I highly doubt if the app store or Apple is at fault here - they are not in control of the functioning of an app or its internal protocols, merely the platform where you get it from.
The app is compiled by Garmin, they compile one for the Android architecture and on for the iOS architecture, so they are not precisely the same.
You cannot compare the two code-bases.
The problems we are experiencing are inside the Garmin Mobile app for iOS, specifically the latest version, not the app store where we get it from

I?m having the same problem with 11, but it?s gotten worse with 11.0.2 and the latest version of GCM. I unpaired my Vivofit 3 and can?t re-pair it. I?ve tried resetting my network settings. No go. Guess I?ll have to wait for new versions of IOS and GCM.

I've been unable to sync my Forerunner 235 with my iPhone 6 since iOS 11 came out. Now I've upgraded to an iPhone 8 running iOS 11.0.2 with GCM 3.22.2.8, and I'm still unable to pair. My device also doesn't show in the iPhone bluetooth settings, as others have stated.
  • I played a round of golf today and my Approach X40 tracked and worked okay. But it doesn't show up in my scorecard on Garmin Connect.

Additionally, I'm still not being recognized in Garmin Connect Mobile. I submitted an email to Garmin yesterday (in addition to the two phone calls) but haven't received a reply yet. It sounds like this whole issue is related to the latest iOS update rather than with our Garmin devices.

I'll keep you posted once I hear back from Garmin tech support.

I'm not sure if Garmin fixed this issue or not, but Apple had another update to their iOS yesterday and my Approach X40 is now working again. Golf scorecards from the past two days have synced and the weather app is now consistently showing.

I have only encountered this problem over the last two weeks. I got on the golf course and could not sync the course that I was on. Switched iPhone 6 on and off, as well as watch. Was totally distracted for 4 holes and ended up taking watch off. Got home and the only way I could get it to work was to delete the HR from my list of devices in Gonnect and re-add it. Problem is, same thing happened this week and I?ve gone through the same procedure. It?s working again now. Downloaded IOS 11.0.2 today. Let?s see if it fixes it? Don?t you just love Apple? If it wasn?t for the fact that I?ve got an iMac, 2 iPads and an iPhone, I?d go back to Windows. In so many ways Apple take advantage of their customers!
