Summary screen has the wrong number of activities

Since a couple of days ago, the summary information on Connect has the wrong number of activities. For example, today it shows 1, but I have 3.

If I tap the activities, there are additional activities from MoveIQ - this is normal, but not all my recorded activities are shown. However, if I go in the details for individual activity type, everything is there.

All the time and date information on recorded activities is correct.

Any ideas? I did already try a reinstall.

Edit: Turns out it is not the app - the issue is in Connect, itself.
  • I've been seeing the same thing as well. I even uninstalled the app and reset my watch. I did a test today where I waited until I had three activities before syncing and all three showed on the summary screen.
  • It has something to do with (recent versions of?) Garmin Connect Mobile apps using cached information to populate its My Day snapshot, notwithstanding showing the correct Last Sync time.

I have three mobile devices on which Garmin Connect Mobile is installed:
    • Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, running GCM 3.11.1
    • Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, running GCM 3.17
    • Apple iPad Air, running GCM 3.18.0.12

Starting point: at 23:40, My Day in Garmin Connect Mobile on all three devices showed ‘576 Active Calories’ and ‘1 Activities’.

At 23:44, as an experiment I recorded a short activity (using the Bike profile, although I never actually ride) on my FR630, saved it and then synced (via the S5 mini).

The activity count in the My Day snapshot went up to 2 on the S5 mini, but remained 1 on both the Tab S and the iPad Air, no matter the number of times I synced my FR630 with whichever device (which updated the Last Sync time correctly on all three devices), or swiped down in My Day to refresh the snapshot.

At 23:53, I noticed that My Day on the S5 mini was showing ‘577 Active Calories’, ‘2 Activities’ and ‘Last Sync 23:52’, whereas the other two devices were showing ‘576 Active Calories’, ‘1 Activities’ and ‘Last Sync 23:52’.

Unpairing and re-adding the FR630 on the iPad Air didn't change anything. Signing out and then signing back in didn't change anything. Removing the My Day snapshot from the list, then adding it again, didn't change anything. Clearing cache on the Tab S didn't change anything. Clearing data on the Tab S, and then having to sign in again, didn't change anything. Uninstalling Garmin Connect Mobile on the Tab S, and then installing (3.18), still didn't change anything, with regard to My Day displaying non-current Active Calories and number of Activities.

At midnight, the My Day counters were reset on all three devices.

I recorded a dummy Run Indoor activity, saved it, and synced via the iPad Air. All three devices then showed ‘0 Active Calories’ and ‘1 Activities’.

I then recorded a dummy Bike activity, saved it, and synced via the iPad Air. Upon swiping down to refresh the My Day snapshot on all three devices, only the S5 mini got the memo and showed ‘2 Activities’.

Again, nothing I did on the iPad Air or the Tab S – including uninstalling and reinstalling Garmin Connect Mobile – could make either of them show anything other than ‘1 Activities’.

    Edit #1:
One hour later, Garmin Connect Mobile on the iPad Air persists in showing ‘1 Activities’.

    Edit #2:
After I manually added a dummy activity in GCM on the iPad Air, My Day now shows ‘3 Activities’ on all three devices.

    Edit #3:
After I manually added another in GCM on the Tab S, My Day showed ‘4 Activities’ on all three devices.
After I manually added another in GCM on the S5 mini, My Day showed ‘5 Activities’ on all three devices.

After I saved a dummy activity on my FR630, and synced it via the Tab S, My Day showed ‘5 Activities’ on the iPad Air and the Tab S, but ‘6 Activities’ on the S5 mini (after a couple of minutes).

    Edit #4:
The activity counts on the iPad Air and the Tab S remained at ‘5 Activities’ seven hours later.

Added a Manual Activity forced the update

I had the same issue as described. Following the previous poster's logic, I added a Manual event to force a refresh of My Day. That seemed to work. I had 3 Walking activities of which only 1 was a Move IQ. THe other two were timed/GPS activities. The timed activities showed up on the Activities screen (they even sync'ed over to Strava), but they did not appear in My Day. After adding the Dummy Walking activity, My Day was properly updated to show all my 2 tracked walks and the 1 Move IQ walk. I then deleted the Dummy Activity. Activities under My Day now shows the proper count for Activities.

I will continue to use this as a work around, but a fix would be nice.

I too, am having the same problem on my Vivoactive. It started about 1 week or so ago. What I noticed looking through other threads was that if I go into connect and activities only 1 activity will show up but all of my steps, calories, etc are accounted for. I then go to Walking or other activity and find the one(s) which have not synced and open them. I open up the menu, edit activity, change privacy to everyone under activity settings then sync and it seems to work.

A fix to this would be nice so I don't have to do this every day.

  • previously I assumed but to check
has anyone logged a ticket with support to ensure they are aware of this?

This has been happening to me for a few weeks. Glad I found this thread.

I've logged a ticket with Garmin AU support today.

    Annoying but not a showstopper.

Thank for logging the ticket with Garmin. I'm using a Fenix 3 and this issue coincided with my firmware update to 4.30. Again, all my activities are logged, the count is just off on the summary screen.
