Garmin Connect Not Showing As Source In Apple Health

Hi, I have searched around a bit and this seems to be a fairly common issue, but I can't find a solution...

When I go to Sources in Apple Health, Garmin Connect isn't listed there. I've tried restarting both apps and making sure Connect is running when I launch Health, but it's not in there. Am I doing something wrong?

I am considering buying a Fenix soon, but if I won't be able to sync to Apple Health then I would consider getting an Apple Watch instead...

I found the solution after excessive testing.

Delete the app and then re-download it.
Instead of signing-in, you must create a new account. Skip the setting up a device etc. it will then take you to a screen that asks what you want to mainly use the app for, choose only the ‘Health’ option.

The health app then immediately pops up and links to your Apple Health.

Sign-out of the new account and sign back into your old account :)

it has since stayed linked and everything is working.

Great Job! It worked for me on my iPhone X this a lot!!!

hmm.. im on IOS 11.4.1 and use Garmin Connect version 4.11.0.11 that privacy trick did not work for me,.. its pretty amazing that the cheap bluetooth scale with the app where everybody complains about CAN get it working in healthkit but Garmin dont??? i guess they dont have the developers for it.. sights.. OR. alu mode, Apple is blocking it because it wants you to buy the apple watch.. /alu mode off

edit, apparently i only read the first page :) i guess there's a "fix" still pretty poor if you ask me.. don't go blaming Apple you Garmin...

The sign out method worked for me too. I didn’t need to create a new account at all. I simply signed back in with my existing account and the health app sharing options appeared.
  • You have to connect from the connect app first. Go to setting-connected apps-apple health- connect to apple health

  • I got the solution! After having the same problem I played around a bit and found the problem. You need to open the garmin connect app, go to …more, settings, apps and enable the health app. Afterwards garmin is listed in the health app!

  • I finally found the solution! You have to open the garmin connect app, go to …more, settings, connected apps, choose healths app. Afterwards garmin is listed in the health app. Cheers :)

  • Thanks, this worked beautifully!
