Garmin Connect Not Showing As Source In Apple Health

Hi, I have searched around a bit and this seems to be a fairly common issue, but I can't find a solution...

When I go to Sources in Apple Health, Garmin Connect isn't listed there. I've tried restarting both apps and making sure Connect is running when I launch Health, but it's not in there. Am I doing something wrong?

I am considering buying a Fenix soon, but if I won't be able to sync to Apple Health then I would consider getting an Apple Watch instead...
  • I found the solution after excessive testing.

Delete the app and then re-download it.
Instead of signing-in, you must create a new account. Skip the setting up a device etc. it will then take you to a screen that asks what you want to mainly use the app for, choose only the ‘Health’ option.

The health app then immediately pops up and links to your Apple Health.

Sign-out of the new account and sign back into your old account :)

it has since stayed linked and everything is working.

The previous solution with editing security option didn’t help me but this!
After months of frustration it’s working.
    Thank you for your solution!
  • I ended up getting the Garmin Vivoactive 3 to replace my FR620 which opened up all the Health integration so it is certain devices that integrate with Health. Near workaround though!!

I can confirm that this also worked perfectly for me after months of frustration! THANK YOU!!!
  • mstruve; occamsrazorben; Wingrid3r Let's think of this logically.

Garmin has no incentive to create a way to directly sync another makers device with it's Garmin Connect systems. They are in the business of selling Their own devices and, frankly, have the best devices out there, for specific needs.

Apple has no incentive to provide support to Garmin as they want you to purchase their device, not to mention concede that the Garmin Connect System is much better than theirs.

Garmin DOES provide a drag and drop availability for others to export their data and import it into Garmin Connect. Hit the Cloud Button at the top right and select Import Data and you will find the Drag&Drop window as well as a list of formats that you can import.

Not many other platforms give you that availability.
  • Stuartbiesh well done for figuring this one out. It’s helped me immensely. I’m very grateful.

You can simply sign out and create a new account, no need to delete and reinstall the app. Works flawlessly!

Sign out and create a new "health" account worked for me also.
