Can I sync Garmin Connect with Apple's Health app?

Hi There,

I wanted to get my steps information from Apple Health sources and sync with Garmin Connect. Is that possible?

Also, I wonder if there is a way to sync Garmin Connect activity info to Health app, meaning the other way around. In Garmin Connect it says that can be managed on the Sources tab on Health app, but I can't see the Garmin Connect app icon on the list of 3rd party sources, even though it is mentioned in my Garmin app.

Thanks,

Julio

That fix resolves getting GC to show up as a Source in Apple Health. But, the Garmin implementation of Apple Health sync is still severely broken. Every time you open or bring GC from the background it writes another instance of any workouts to Apple Health. Whereas, steps will not sync until midnight. So, no real-time sync stepping for Garmin devices even though every other step tracker that integrates with Health will sync real-time. And, by all accounts from other users on these forums, any attempts to contact Garmin support and explain this to them will fall on deaf ears.

Face it, Garmin does not have their act together whatsoever for their GC app or integration with other apps (Apple Health or Stridekick).

The above assessment is bang on!!! It appears that steps are updated overnight to the heart app. I chatted and spoke with tech support who firmly put the blame on apple which is totally wrong as I used the Nokia Go watch with their app and it updates the heart app without issue shortly after a sync. Too bad because I like the watch but when a company refuses to deal with what is clearly a bug, it's time to dump that company.

    Hi,

ive been suffering the same issue with a Garmin femix 2 & iPhone, tried everything in this post to no avail.

What did work is pairing my iPhone/Garmin app with my wife’s Garmin Vivosport “activity tracker”. As soon as I done that the Apple Health app opened straight away on the page that sets the read/write date for the Garmin app.

I have since I paired it and the Health app for now seems to be reading the activity details logged on Garmin. Although a Garmin doesn’t seem to be reading my weight from the Apple Health app.

I think the Apple Health app is designed to work with activity trackers rather than running / cycling computers. It makes sense as activity trackers log all the info the Apple Health app shows. Steps/sleep/flights climbed etc.

Just a theory, that seems logical, but annoying. All I want is Garmin to read my weight from the Health app, Which in turn gets it from the Withings app which is paired to my scales.
