IOS 10 compatibility?

Is the Garmin Connect mobile app compatible with IOS 10 (10.0.2)? I upgraded my iPhone yesterday and now it won't work. It opens but shuts down when I try to do anything.

  • I got some shutdowns with 10.0.2 but it works most of the times...
  • No problem here. Uploaded an activity just fine yesterday morning. If you're having problems, shutdown the app properly. Reboot the iPhone. Which model iPhone?

Someone in the VAHR forum reported such a problem. He said Garmin support told him, that there is an issues with bluetooth power safe.

After updating my company iPhone 5 to 10.0.2 astonishingly everything works as expected.

Those experiencing problem maybe should delete GCM and the device in iOS bluetooth settings. Then reinstall GCM and make sure it is allowed to ALWAYS use GPS. Then repair by initiating the pairing on the device and then start GCM. Now the device should show the pairing code.

I had the same problem GCM refused to work on my iPhone at all after the iOS upgrade. I uninstalled GCM and erased the Bluetooth listing before reinstalling and it works fine now.

Usually this should work, but it seems for a few iOS 10 users it doesn't.

In that case it's worth to reset iOS network settings before trying it again. But in the VAHR forum we have a customer, where nothing helps at all, so I recommended a fallback to iOS 9, because it can take 2 months until 10.1 will be released and we don't know if that will work without a GCM app update.

Just in case ... here's a downgrade tutorial:
