LiveTrack Issues

Since the latest Garmin Connect update on iOS, LiveTrack is now just about completely useless.

The beginning of the ride shows up and that's it.

Since this problem, I have:

1) Uninstalled Garmin Connect and re-installed it
2) Unpaired / Paired Edge 1000 to iPhone
3) Factory Reset on Edge 1000

Many people with Edge 1000s have the same problem. See Edge 1000 Forum (https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?354317-LiveTrack-Issues)

All components are on latest software/firmware.

Also, at the end of the ride, the autosync feature no longer works. In fact, stopping the iOS app and/or restarting the Edge 1000 fails to make it sync. I must power down the iPhone, restart it, then restart the Edge 1000 and Garmin Connect and I will get it to sync.


Furthermore, *IF* the iPhone goes through an area where there is no cell service, the iOS app never reconnects to the Garmin servers and the ride dies there...

    i found a solution for me.
    i rolled back to mobile connect version 3.6 and the first run today worked well with livetrack.
    i used "connect 3.6.ipa" from early june, found on my timemachine backup.
    .
    so definitly something wrong with version 3.7


    Well, that's an more than obvious solution... you could jump back to 3.5 or any other older.
    But the problem is that you need that ipa signed for your device or it won't install... or you must have a jailbroken iphone to install unsigned ipa's.

    The worrying part is that almost a month later we still don't have any solution by Garmin.
    It's SO deceiving...

    BTW, comment this issue or any other in appstore and rate it with 1 star, it's the only way to make known this buggy software and ashame Garmin.

    LiveTrack Issues Garmin 620

    iPhone 5S (1 OS below current)
    Garmin 620 with HRM

    First of all, my app can take 10-15 minutes just to load. Somedays its immediate (rare), but other days it takes a long time to load.

    Once loaded, the live tracking doesn't work. It did when I first got my watch, but now it NEVER works. Extremely frustrating as I upgraded to this watch specifically for this feature! When Garmin will you send out a fix?!!!!

    Edge 520 + iPhone 6

    Same issue here.
    I cannot use LiveTrack with my brand new Edge 520 paired to my iPhone 6.
    We have this 'failed to connect' problem from one month and umbelievably was not fixed by Garmin.
    370 Euros...it's a shame!

    Live Track Issues

    I have exactly the same 'failed to connect' problem reported by others. I have contacted Garmin and they have failed to respond.

    Edge 520 and iPhone 6 LiveTrack Problems

    Just reporting my issues like everyone else. I have just purchased the Edge 520 and use iPhone 6. Latest version of Connect. My LiveTrack starts fine and stops about 3 to 5 miles into ride every time. I have great cell service where riding and iPhone is right next to the Edge 520 on my handle bars. I also entered a support ticket with Garmin. Hope it's resolved quickly. LiveTrack is one of the main reason I purchased this device so family could track. Disappointed so far.

    Same problems here....LiveTrack failing and Twitter BS

    What once worked perfectly.... Edge 520 with 6.20, Connect with 3.7.0.7, iPhone 6 ....now fails on every ride soon after begins and Twitter notification that can't be cleared.
    Garmin has been too busy working on a new product (Edge 820) instead of fixing the one they have already sold us. Maybe they will be more responsive if we all do a product review on Amazon. :mad::mad::mad:

    Fixed?!

    Just seen that there's an update for GCM on iOS.
    Installed and testes LiveTrack...and it works again.
    Let's see if there will be kinda release notes...

    LiveTrack update for iOS. Is it fixed? Let's hear from those who test it.

    Here is "What's New" on the app for iOS. Not much of a statement of repair if it's fixed. Lets hope so...

    I still stubbornly switch on Livetrack every time, even though it hasn't worked in a few weeks. To my amazement the last try (I try it multiple times) actually picked up my route from the exact point where I made a picture until home. That is interesting because taking a picture calls to the GPS functionality and it would seem that GCM also somehow got a bump from that. I will experiment further today.

    Meanwhile: a new version? It's working again? Was it released somewhere yesterday in the evening (EU time)? Would they have released something on the back end as well? That could also be an enormous coincidence.

    Did some tests in the car. Can't tell what solved it but currently Livetrack works again!
