Vivosmart Sync Fail

Hi

I have a Garmin Vivosmart with the latest firmware, version 3.60. I have an iPhone 5s using iOS 9.1 with the latest Garmin Connect.

The Vivosmart appears to be connected to the iPhone by bluetooth without issues. Notifications are working fine on my Vivosmart - so texts, calls etc are showing up on the Vivosmart as an when they flash up on the iPhone.

Syncing, which I do most days, was working fine until this morning.

Today, when I go into the Connect App, it starts to sync with the blue bar showing some progress, then after a few seconds it displays in red that there is a sync fail.

I have tried closing and reopening the Connect App, toggling airplane mode on the iPhone, restarting the iPhone and pressing the sync button on the Vivosmart while the Connect App is open, with no success (just the same blue bar initially indicating a sync, followed by a red bar showing a sync fail).

Help anyone?

  • Exactly the same issue with Vivosmart and Google Nexus5 - Android 6.0

    Yesterday everything was perfect, and now is not possible to sync, but otherwise I have full notifications w/o problems
  • Garmin had a banner saying they were going to do maintenance yesterday. It's obviously taking longer than they expected.

    Vivosmart Connect Issue

    I too am having issues syncing Vivosmart. 3.60 on Android 5.0.1 Everything working great yesterday, except for fitness pal sync (thrown in the towel to ever have that feature), and this morning unable to sync at all. Have restarted my phone, uninstalled connect and re installed. Now I cannot sign into the app at all. Have reset password and still get message there was an error signing in. Garmin really needs to improve this app since the devices are so intertwined with them. I really do not want to have to open up my laptop just to sync. Quit "improving" app and make it unusable. I love my vivosmart but these continued problems will be a deal breaker.

    I am having the same issues with my vivosmart HR. I have absolutely no data on my app, just the spinning circle trying to update the information. I am hoping that just because the website is back up and running the app is still being updated.

    As for the fitness pal issues, I had that same issue until about 3 months ago. I tried disconnecting it from my app and relinking it more times that I can remember. What finally worked for me what going onto the website (connect.garmin.com) and signing out of myfitness pal from there and then resigning back in. It has worked since then (knock on wood...). In fact, it is currently the only thing showing up as recorded on the website right now.

    Vivosmart HR

    The step sync and sleep sync still down since 10PM PDT 11/11/2015. Now is 11:35AM PDT 11/12/2015. Just wonder why it take Garmin this long to put it back online. This is the second time since I got my Vivosmart HR last Saturday 11/07/2015. I have Charge HR since it came out and none of this happened ever. Guess I should look for the receipt and box to going back to Best Buy this weekend.
