Connect App Bluetooth Troubleshooting Message

I recently purchased a Garmin Edge 1000 to upgrade from my Edge 510. Since I added the 1000 and removed the 510, the Connect app is CONSTANTLY giving me the Bluetooth Connection Error message. Phone is a Droid Turbo running lollipop. I don't know why it's doing this. I KNOW THE DEVICE IS NOT CONNECTED - I turned it OFF! Here's my current settings:

On the Phone App:

Auto Upload - Yes
Weather - No
Alerts - No

On the Edge 1000 (Bluetooth Settings):

Enable - Yes
Call and Text Alerts - Yes

The only other Garmin device on the app is the VIRB, and it doesn't have Bluetooth. Anyone know why I keep getting this message on the app? Is there a way to turn it off?
  • Disable notifications in app settings

By disabling the notification for the connect app the bluetooth error message disappeared. The notification on the forerunner still works, tough.
  • I will use that solution for the time being thanks. As whenever I'm using Google maps I get the notification which is annoying. I just don't know why gsrmin having addressed this bug yet. It must also be draining the battery if the app is continuing to try and do something in the background when the GPS is turned on.

    Also disables Activity Uploads?

By disabling the notification for the connect app the bluetooth error message disappeared. The notification on the forerunner still works, tough.

If I am following this suggestion correctly, disabling notification ("Mobile Notifications") also disables "Activity Uploads" (which is no longer offered with notifications disabled). This defeats one of the most useful functions of the app.

How can it be that as pervasive a functionality issue as this that has been outstanding this long does not even get a comment from someone associated with Garmin since 08/2015?

Update: Sadly, the annoying "Bluetooth Troubleshooting" notifications are persisting even after I disable Mobile Notifications. Does Garmin provide no support for the Android app they publish?

    Need a resoltion to this.

    On Droid 6.0.1
Security Patch version Jan 1, 2017
    Motorola Droid Turbo
    Latest version of GCM
    Latest software on Fenix3

I am CONSTANTLY getting this "troubleshooting" message. F3 always seems to be connected when GCM is complaining. This really needs to be addressed. There doesn't seem to be any way to disable this one alert. I do NOT want to lose the ability to automatically upload my activities.

Someone please address. There are other threads and numerous posts about this exact issue. Thank you.
  • Some sort of workaround

I'm getting them a few times an hour too - I used to have a Vivoactive HR and upgraded to a Fenix 5, they only started happening some weeks after the upgrade.

Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 running Android 7.0 (so not uncommon..)

I've resorted to setting Garmin Connect notifications on the phone to silent (no sound or vibration) and disabling sending Garmin Connect notifications to the watch in the "Smart Notifications" settings in Connect, so even though they continue to happen, I don't notice them.
  • I had a Vivoactive about 2 years ago with a Galaxy Note 4 and would have this problem. I switched to a Fitbit largely because of this connection notification issue. I just purchased a Fenix 3 HR and now have a Samsung S7 edge and am shocked that Garmin still hasn't resolved this issue! I'm still using Fitbit as an activity tracker and bought the Garmin for workouts so I've just disabled the app notifications. I'm glad I didn't intend to use it as a replacement for my Blaze. In addition to Fitbit devices, I also have a connected water bottle from a fairly new company called Hidrate and even they, as relative newcomers, don't have this issue with their app. Garmin desperately needs to get better software engineers.
