Connect App Bluetooth Troubleshooting Message

I recently purchased a Garmin Edge 1000 to upgrade from my Edge 510. Since I added the 1000 and removed the 510, the Connect app is CONSTANTLY giving me the Bluetooth Connection Error message. Phone is a Droid Turbo running lollipop. I don't know why it's doing this. I KNOW THE DEVICE IS NOT CONNECTED - I turned it OFF! Here's my current settings:

On the Phone App:

Auto Upload - Yes
Weather - No
Alerts - No

On the Edge 1000 (Bluetooth Settings):

Enable - Yes
Call and Text Alerts - Yes

The only other Garmin device on the app is the VIRB, and it doesn't have Bluetooth. Anyone know why I keep getting this message on the app? Is there a way to turn it off?

Has this been resolved? Or a cause identified?

    Vivoactive HR with same issue

Hi I am new here just got my vivoactive HR Thursday set up Thursday night and have had the Bluetooth Issue constantly vibrating but the phone syncs with the device. Mobile phone Samsung Galaxy S5 running lollipop. Any way to turn this off? I'm still learning the device coming from Fitbit Surge.
  • I'm on a Samsung SVI, Edge 520. When bluetooth is disabled, and I enable GPS on the SVI, I receive this error as well.

    Same thing

I am having the exact same issue - BlackBerry PRIV (recently had to do hardware exchange; no issues on the old phone, but this very annoying problem on the new one - identical hardware and setup / configuration). Has this issue even been acknowledged by Garmin? I see separate threads going back a very long time about it. Edge 510; other Bluetooth devices connected to my phone so can't turn Bluetooth off.
  • I've had the same issue since the last update (3.13, i guess). Edge 520 and Moto X Pure (Android 7.1.1). Re-pairing device doesn't appear to help. Smart notifications also seemed to stop working. Occasionally, an error is reported after syncing, but it still syncs ok. The most annoying thing is the relentless bluetooth notification when i'm not even trying to use a garmin product...

Has anyone found a way to stop these alerts? My phone vibrates every couple of minutes, then the message on my phone causes my HR+ to vibrate, too. Honestly, it's enough to make me switch to FitBit.

Does anyone from Garmin even review the forums?

    Garmin- PLEASE

    Garmin,

Please respond to this issue that seems to be a common reoccurring issue that is very troublesome. I am experiencing the same issues as all previous users have posted and it is extremely frustrating. I feel that this alert is totally unnecessary and I have never had Bluetooth connectivity issues, despite what the alert states. Please give us a way to disable this alert.

I am seriously considering an alternate brand's product due to this issue. Everything else with my experience has been enjoyable.

    Product: Vivoactive HR
    Phone: 2015 Moto X Pure

Problem: "Bluetooth Troubleshooting - Garmin device has disconnected"
  • I also constantly get this error message. The only way not to get it is to either keep your Garmin switched on all the time and constantly paired to your phone 24/7. Or to turn off your GPS. Neither of the 'solutions' are solutions, and I would have thought 3 years on Garmin would have sorted out this bug.
