Fenix 3 Bluetooth Pairing Fails

Former Member
Former Member
I cannot pair my Fenix 3 with the Garmin Connect Android App on my Xperia Z1 Compact.

The Fenix 3 has been registered with my Garmin Connect account through Garmin Express.
My Home Wireless network has been set up.
The device even shows up on my list of devices in the Garmin Connect Android App

I initiate pairing from the Fenix 3, which goes into 'Ready to Pair'. Then select 'Pair Device' in Garmin Connect Android App..... The search begins and after a minute of so I get the 'Device Not Found' message on the phone

I already have an Edge 1000, which has paired with the phone/app without problem

  • Same issue here.
It was working for 2 weeks, then I lost the connection, and i'm now unable to reconnect the app with my fenix3.
It tried to empty the cache, reboot, uninstall, reinstall and nothing works.

    Please fix this.

I am also now having trouble with pairing the fenix 3 with my iPhone 6+. It worked fine - but I was having problems with the phone and connectivity and so I rebooted it - and now it doesn't connect at all!
What's my next step here? I've had the watch for about a month.

    figured out how to pair

If you can't pair through the normal process, go through the garmin connect app. Make sure to delete the fenix 3 from the garmin connect app first. Then reconnect

My watch can connect/disconnect smoothly on my android tablet (samsung galaxy tab), but it is still unable to connect with my xperia Z3 compact using the same procedure

    Garmin come on...

And at least show some some interest... Judging by this forum and android market, there is a real issue in connectivity!
See: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.garmin.android.apps.connectmobile : 20% of your users rate your app 0, mainly about connectivity issues.

I finally found out why F3 wasn't pairing on my phone: The mobile app design is poor, and the "OK, please pair my watch" is simply almost hidden (see screenshot below) because of the size of the "cancel" button.

    You're welcome Garmin.

    Garmin come on !

I just faced this issue on my new device and its a pity it has not been resolved for months. Garmin come on it is not a rocket science. Please check how every 20$ bluetooth speaker can pair automaticly!! Watch connects to sattelites but can not connect to a smartphone.
I liked the device but i think i'm gonna return it because of this ridiculous software issue

Ok so I just bought this watch yesterday and I cannot pair it via garmin connect. I have android 4.4.2 Is there any working solution for this. The only way I can pair it is through built in BT app and then I don't get any notifications. I've tried all steps above. I've paid over 500euros for the sapphire version and it can't even pair with the smartphone? Please help. Otherwise I am returning it. Very dissapointed!

I suggest you give Garmin Product support a call, they can talk you through the correct procedure.
