Garmin Connect App Samsung Galaxy S4mini

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4mini and i have been offered the Garmin vivofit.

Unfortunately it seems the Garmin Connect App is not compatible with my smartphone even though it says on the website Samsung Galaxy S4 is compatible with the App.
How can I start using the App and Vivofit on the move and see data feeding straight to my mobile via bluetooth.

Can someone maybe explain how to make both device compatible via Samsung Galaxy S4 mini?

Thanks
Joris

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it says mine is not compatible even though I have Bluetooth V4.0....My wife's Samsung Galaxy Note 2 connects okay and that is an older phone....
A answer to this would be appreciated...

Hi I've also got a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini - it has the necessary bluetooth version, but the garmin connect app displays a message saying that the handset doesn't include 'SMART' bluetooth technology. So far I've had problems with the Ant connection on the laptop not updating and running sluggishly. The Website being down so not able to login or sync the details to the site and now the app won't work on a new phone it would be great if Garmin could respond.

I apologize to hear about the compatibility issues that you're experiencing between the Vivofit and your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. What version of Android are you running on your Galaxy S4 Mini? You should be able to check this by going through Settings > About. Please respond at your earliest convenience. Thank you!

I have a Samsung galaxy s4 and am also having problems. I have the connect app installed on my phone but the phone will not stay connected to the vivofit.
Therefor when trying to sync data it will not sync. I have checked my android version and it is 4.4.2. It pairs just fine and will say connected but then just disconnects itself. Any help??? I am about to return it.

i have the 4.2.2 android version. Thanks for fixing the problem
  • I figured I would piggy back on this thread rather than make a new one but my wife's s4 mini will not let her sync with her new vivofit. She is running 4.2.2 and was able to use the fitbit flex on the same phone with no issue and it is my understanding they both have the same bluetooth requirements. Due to being able to see your steps without use of phone she has been ok with just syncing at home but it would be great to resolve this issue.

I have the same problem. My S2 Mini uses version 4.2.2 and the Vivo compatible device page says requires version 4.3. So the S2 Mini will not connect unless Garmin change their software or Samsung release 4.3 or 4.4 for Galaxy S4 Mini

  • I just got the Vivofit TODAY and it won't hold connection with my samsung s4. It connects....then disconnects within 30 seconds... My second "tracker" sucky experience. First the fitbit flex, now this. I'll probably return it tomorrow.

I have the galaxy s4 mini and vivofit as well. All software updated. Steps don't sync with the app at all. Syncing ok with the computer, just not the phone. Any help would be appreciated.
