Garmin Connect App Samsung Galaxy S4mini

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4mini and i have been offered the Garmin vivofit.

Unfortunately it seems the Garmin Connect App is not compatible with my smartphone even though it says on the website Samsung Galaxy S4 is compatible with the App.
How can I start using the App and Vivofit on the move and see data feeding straight to my mobile via bluetooth.

Can someone maybe explain how to make both device compatible via Samsung Galaxy S4 mini?

Thanks
Joris

Hi, I have just bought a vivo fit and have the Samsung s4 mini - operating system 4.2.2. Is this going to work on my phone or am I about to return the vivo fit?

    Thanks

The s4 mini has the correct hardware (bluetooth smart) to connect to Garmin devices but doesn't come with the correct version of Android to run it by default. Samsung have rolled out 4.3 in some countries but apparently it was full of bugs and they shut it down. This was quite some time ago now and given that they have released new devices I doubt that they are going to focus on fixing the shortcomings in this handset...

How do you sync the vivofit with samsung galaxy s4 mini? I have checked my android version and it is 4.2.2. Your instructions in the thread say where to find this info on the phone but do not offer any further info to fix. Please help as I am pretty annoyed that it is not working and was until that point a bit excited about this new gadget.

I will be glad to assist you. Although the hardware for Bluetooth Smart is present in the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini not all devices have the required software to support it. This particular device model required Android version 4.3 or higher to utilize Bluetooth Smart. If you do not have the minimum Android 4.3 check with your device manufacturer or carrier and see if an update may be available.
