*FIXED: Weather Report Unavailable

*UPDATE: Garmin Connect Mobile v2.0.2 (Released on 3/19/14 for Android) is now available for download on the Google Play marketplace. The Weather Report issue has been addressed in this update and should be fixed. If you continue experiencing issues with this, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Ensure that you're running the latest version of Garmin Connect Mobile.
  • Ensure that you're running the latest software version on your Edge device using Garmin Express.
  • Ensure that you have the latest version of Android OS installed on your device.
  • Ensure that Weather is 'On' from within the Garmin Connect Mobile app. (To do this, connect the Edge to the GCM Application via Bluetooth. Once connected, Tap on Menu > Devices > Details (under the connected Edge device) > Settings > Toggle Weather to 'Yes'. Be sure to return to the Home screen to implement this change.)
  • If Weather is still unavailable, Turn Bluetooth Off/On and Repair the connection between the Android and Edge devices.
  • If Weather is still unavailable, Power Off/On both the Android and Edge devices and Repair the Bluetooth connection.


Please let us know if you continue experiencing Weather Report issues after all troubleshooting attempts have been made. Thank you for your feedback!




We are currently aware of an issue causing users to be unable to view weather information on their Edge device when paired to the Garmin Connect Mobile application via Bluetooth. This issue has been reported to our developers and should be corrected with the next update (version 2.0.2, ETA Unknown). This thread will be updated once this update is released.

  • Updated the APP v.2.0.4 on Galaxy S4 but weather report on Edge 810 (fw 2.9) doesn't work at all (did hard reset of the S4 and the 810), GCM support is it time to change the wx server to more reliable and with better area coverage like "accuweather" now?

    On mine, the weather report stopped working a while back. After the app's update, it still didn't work. I finally got around to seeing what other people were doing to fix the issue, and I tried this:

    1. On the Edge, go into Settings -> Bluetooth -> choose my phone, and "Forget Phone".
    2. On the phone, go into Bluetooth Settings, and Unpair the Edge.
    3. Pair them back again, using the instructions in the user manual.

    After that, I tried the weather on the Edge, and it worked! Wonderful!

    Then I turned the Edge off, turned it back on, let everything connect...and when I tried the weather it was Unavailable again. Ugh. I tried closing the app and turning the Edge off, then starting them back up, but still the same miserable message.

    Once more: ugh.

    GCM version correction

    Hate to see this labled "Fixed". Never worked with my Droid Bionic. Recently replaced the Droid with a Galaxy S5. Latest Edge 810 firmware (3.0), latest version of GCM (2.0.4), latest version of Android (4.4.2). Sometimes Weather Report is available, sometimes it isn't. Appears to be random. Some success in going into GCM settings after gps connects to phone and toggling Weather off, then on (NO then YES).

    Same exact issue here.. If I mess with it for 20 minutes by turning everything off, forget phone, add phone, do a rain dance, flip a quarter 3 times, drink 8oz of water and wiggle my toes real fast it might work once...

    If I dare turn the 810 off then it's back to much of the same...

    It only worked once.. Trying new combos now.. Yesterday, I tired it again and no dice!

    Could be I was wiggling my toes at a different speed though.. More testing needed before wiggling toes can be counted as a 'fix'.... :p
