*UPDATE: Garmin Connect Mobile v2.0.2 (Released on 3/19/14 for Android) is now available for download on the Google Play marketplace. The Weather Report issue has been addressed in this update and should be fixed. If you continue experiencing issues with this, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Ensure that you're running the latest version of Garmin Connect Mobile.
  • Ensure that you're running the latest software version on your Edge device using Garmin Express.
  • Ensure that you have the latest version of Android OS installed on your device.
  • Ensure that Weather is 'On' from within the Garmin Connect Mobile app. (To do this, connect the Edge to the GCM Application via Bluetooth. Once connected, Tap on Menu > Devices > Details (under the connected Edge device) > Settings > Toggle Weather to 'Yes'. Be sure to return to the Home screen to implement this change.)
  • If Weather is still unavailable, Turn Bluetooth Off/On and Repair the connection between the Android and Edge devices.
  • If Weather is still unavailable, Power Off/On both the Android and Edge devices and Repair the Bluetooth connection.

Please let us know if you continue experiencing Weather Report issues after all troubleshooting attempts have been made. Thank you for your feedback!

We are currently aware of an issue causing users to be unable to view weather information on their Edge device when paired to the Garmin Connect Mobile application via Bluetooth. This issue has been reported to our developers and should be corrected with the next update (version 2.0.2, ETA Unknown). This thread will be updated once this update is released.

We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
  • From GCMSUPPORT: "should be corrected with the next update (version 2.0.2, ETA Unknown)"

This is NOT a good answer. The weather report is offered as a feature in Garmin advertising and is not working! Not only that, it was working and has been broken....!
Those of us who have purchased the Edge 510 or 810 are missing a promised feature and "ETA unknown" is just not good enough.
Please find out the ETA and post it. It goes without saying that this should be fixed fast, if the update to version 2.0.2 is going to take a while then an intermediate "hotfix" should be provided.
Hope I am not being too demanding or rude but this is a feature that has been of great use to me and I want to have it available to me.... as advertised!

    update

If the new update broke the weather app than allow a downgrade till the app can be fixed
Was their a major update before the weather app stopped working
    Just a options
  • I totally agree here, I buy a €500 device, based on advertisement of a bluetooth connection enabling weather report and 3 weeks later it stops working due to a update of the app and then I have to wait for a new version ETA unknown. Not taking your customers seriously...

Agreed. There are so many fee iOS weather apps out there that CAN get weather information from more than just airport stations, a big company like Garmin should be able to do that too!

It is very disappointing that there has been no reply or further comment from the "Support" people.
    I am a huge Garmin fan, my family actively uses 9 Garmin devices, Edge 510, Edge 810, Edge 800, 3 x Edge 500, 2 x Oregon and 2 x Nuvi.
I am grateful for the fact that Garmin provides Connect, and the Mobile App for their users and this is certainly one of the reasons why I chose and continue to choose Garmin devices.
Because I value and use my Garmins, (particularly the 510 and 810) it is all the more irritating when something stops working.
I consider myself a Garmin Customer and I don't think that Customer Service is too much to expect. The Sales people surely don't simply ignore customers and I don't think it's right that the Support Team feels that they can do just that.
It comes across to me a bit like: "We told you we're aware of the problem so just shut up, wait and be patient"
Garmin is a world class company providing world class devices so come on Garmin Support, let's have some world class support!

    Awaiting a response!

  • I don't think they care.. This should be a top priority fix but it appears that the attitude is 'who cares, we will fix it whenever we please'
  • Glad that I found this topic....I've been trying.to.fix it for the whole.day without the results...
    @garmin: any ETA for this?

  • After applying the fixes 1 - 5, the weather is now displaying again.
I am glad that this has been fixed and in a reasonably short time.

However I still feel that the support team is not doing a good job providing a status and ETA of expected fixes.
It does not show much consideration of Garmin customers when the posts to this (and probably other) forum posts are not answered, simply ignored!
