*UPDATE: Garmin Connect Mobile v2.0.2 (Released on 3/19/14 for Android) is now available for download on the Google Play marketplace. The Weather Report issue has been addressed in this update and should be fixed. If you continue experiencing issues with this, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Ensure that you're running the latest version of Garmin Connect Mobile.
  • Ensure that you're running the latest software version on your Edge device using Garmin Express.
  • Ensure that you have the latest version of Android OS installed on your device.
  • Ensure that Weather is 'On' from within the Garmin Connect Mobile app. (To do this, connect the Edge to the GCM Application via Bluetooth. Once connected, Tap on Menu > Devices > Details (under the connected Edge device) > Settings > Toggle Weather to 'Yes'. Be sure to return to the Home screen to implement this change.)
  • If Weather is still unavailable, Turn Bluetooth Off/On and Repair the connection between the Android and Edge devices.
  • If Weather is still unavailable, Power Off/On both the Android and Edge devices and Repair the Bluetooth connection.

Please let us know if you continue experiencing Weather Report issues after all troubleshooting attempts have been made. Thank you for your feedback!

We are currently aware of an issue causing users to be unable to view weather information on their Edge device when paired to the Garmin Connect Mobile application via Bluetooth. This issue has been reported to our developers and should be corrected with the next update (version 2.0.2, ETA Unknown). This thread will be updated once this update is released.

We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Thank you. This worked for me too. Point 2. "Ensure that you're running the latest software version on your Edge device using Garmin Express" was important for me. Despite running the latest firmware on my Edge 810 an update was still available (something to do with the time) which seemed to fix the weather issue for me.
  • Hello, It doesnt work for me. After applying the fixes 1-6 no weather on my edge 810.
  • Did you make your Garmin "forget" the phone?
My weather worked for a day and then after updating the Time Zone Map, it was gone again.
I am using an Edge 510 but I'm sure that the 810 has similar options.
I went to Phone Connections and tapped on the name of the phone (not the friendly name!) There I found the option to Forget Phone.
Then I restarted the the phone and the Edge, set the Edge to make a new connection. After the phone paired with the Edge again, the weather worked for me and has continued to work for several days now.
    Hope this helps you too!

PS: How sad that Garmin Support apparently feels no obligation to provide advice when members post their difficulties!
  • I made my garmin "forget" my phone and restarted the phone, the Edge and made a new connection. I had the weather one time. But it didn't work after.:(
    I will try again...
I didn't have this problem until the new version of garmin connect mobile.

    Thanks for your help!

Does anyone from Garmin ever reply to these posts? I am a new 810 user and cant beleive there is no support/communication/visible activity to resolve this issue. You would have expected there to have been an ammendment to all online sales material to let people know that the Weather functionality isnt working - smacks of mis-selling to me.
  • A rather unfair first post, if you read the thread just a few posts above yours you will see it's now fixed with a reply given by 'someone from Garmin'.
  • @SUSSAMB:
Maybe you should read a bit further back too!
After the feature was "broken" by the update, and numerous users started to report that their weather was no longer working, Garmin Support announced that they were aware of the issue and it would be fixed.... sometime! They closed the thread and opened this one as a "Known Issue".
From then on there were no replies to questions, comments and especially requests to know when this would be fixed (ETA unknown is not providing information!)
In the post that you mentioned... Garmin support graciously announced that the fix was available ( my telephone prompted me to update long before the post appeared!).
One positive thing was the troubleshooting tips that they posted but even so, no further comments or replies to those people who are still having issues.
I have been able to resolve my weather issues (I hope) and still love my Garmins.
But I am not at all satisfied with Garmin Support people who do not seem to be interested in keeping Garmin Customers happy ! ! !
  • @JCICCARONE:
My weather worked for two days and then I got the "Unavailable" message again.
I waited until the end of my ride (didn't want to lose the data) and stopped the Live Activity.
Then on the Mobile App (Android!) I went to "My Device", Settings and turned the weather off. Then I went all the way back to the Main Menu, in fact just to be sure I exited from the Connect App. Restarted the App and turned the Weather Setting back to "On". Then I looked at Weather on the Garmin and it was back. Since then I haven't had any more losses.
Don't know if this will resolve your problem, it looks like you just have to mess with the connectivity until you hit the right combination.
    Hope this helps....
    • Ensure that you're running the latest software version on your Edge device using Garmin Express.

Is this really that good advice with all the 2.90 Firmware issues being reported?
