Have an idea that would improve the Garmin Connect Mobile application? We would love to hear from you! Please use the Garmin Connect Mobile Ideas and Suggestions thread to submit your ideas, suggestions, and recommendations related to the Garmin Connect Mobile app. Thank you very much!
  • you first assumed it may be all devices...

No, I did not. Check my first post. I wrote exactly this:

Not sure whether it is available for all Garmin models,
  • followed by you suggesting we was wrong.....

But anyway.. you forget something  Garmin Express is capable of reading all the info from the watch so it know which update parts to push to your watch in stead of a full firmware update regardless of the age of the device... And as you have now show the Android app can read this as well there is no reason why it should not be available to all devices that use CIQ..

  • Garmin Express has the direct access to the storage of the device over the USB cable. GCM communicates over BT through established protocols of syncing data in FIT files. If the device is not designed to send the configuration data to GCM, GCM cannot read it. Garmin would have to rework the firmware of hundreds of models. I doubt they would do it. New devices do support not only the exchange of the device info, but you can also configure and customize the device from the phone.

  • You mean like you can configure the fenix5 range from the phone then which uses ciq...   But hey I did mention CIQ on purpose up above for a reason....  If you can have a widget and app that can read the info or just like the instinct does on the phone app then it can be done with most CIQ  based devices... it is just poor programming on garmins part. just like the Issue with requiring to have frigging data connections to view charts on your phone or change settings etc... The app is poorly designed and needs a complete rebuild from the ground up... It should have explore incorporated as well. And you should have full access to data/charts and settings regardless of internet status.... internet should only be needed for syncing...

  • unfortunately it doesn't work on the latest FR245 (with CIQ 3.3.1), nor with the vivosmart 4 (I guess there's no chance it will be added) and it doesn't work on fenix 6, but maybe it'll be added in the next FW upgrade. Let's hope.

  • Feature-request: though not sure technically where should this be requested, but it would be nice to be able to have "floor climb challenges" (similar to the steps challenges)

Unfortunately even though we have devices with barometer that do record daily floor climbs, we can't challenge each other :(

  • Former Member where do i report a new bug?

Today GCM android was upgraded to 4.53.1 (from 4.53) and I can no more see the related badges in the badge screen.

  • Did a quick check on my GCM and all is working there BUT I have yet too receive an update.... Seems Garmin like the one step forward 5 steps back approach to fixing and developing apps.

  • I got 4.53.1 installed and I can see the related badges. For which badge isn't the related badges shown?

  • It's there (main screen > my profile image> all badges > click on a badge > related badges). Looks like i was looking in another place yesterday:

    1. Challenges > click a challenge under "join a challenge" > view badge > there are no related badges

    2. Challenges > chose an ongoing challenge > chose a member that is not you > click on a badge > there are no related badges (note, if you click on yourself you will have related badges)

Looks like my assumptions are naive: i thought that there's one badge view that displays the related badges
