Not sure whether it is available for all Garmin models, but I can view that info in GCM » device » Settings » System » About. Not as quick as with a long tap, but the info is there, in case you did not know about it.
What do you get when you tap directly on the icon of the watch at the top of the My Day screen? You should get the properties of the device, including the settings. I use both Android and iOS. Right now I cannot test it on the Android, but the access to the device settings was identical to iOS.
Nope does not work that way on Android..Takes you to settings thats correct. if you press and hold on watch it gives Product names , unit id, hardware address last connected, then canel, remove device and sync... NOTHING else
I have gone through every menu and pressed and held on every icon and there is NO about screen for the watch on android... SO you android claim is incorrect

It does, just tested it (see below a screenshot from GCM Android). You just need a device of the last generation. Older devices simply do not communicate that information to the phone.
