Issues with app since upgrading to 5.28.1

Since upgrading to version 5.28.1,  I can no longer see my index scales or BPM in the equipment despite them still working and sending data to the app.

You have also managed to break the endurance score tile. The data is there if you click on it but not visible from the tile, even after removing and re adding it.

  • Since update to 5.28.1, it is no longer possible to sync any activities or tracks with my Fenix 5. Also health Data ist not synced. Only pulse is displayed inside the app.

  • I have issues with my Fenix 5 since update to 5.28.1 on Google pixel 8

Neither activities nor tracks or health Data is synchronized. Sync status failed:

  • From what I recall, this issue started after the last few app updates for both of my Index devices (S2 and BPM). I use it as a chance to replace the batteries and reconnect them to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

  • Since Garmin Connect updated I have difficulty in connecting to my GF8 and GI2X. I initially thought firmware updates on both watches were to blame. Then I also tried with different phones, OS and tablets. The problem of disconnection from GC continues. This is a bug in GC.

  • We have recently pushed an update to version 5.29 for Connect. Please update and see if this is still occurring.

  • Hi I received a direct response on email from Garmin Australasia support and did the update 2 days back. Now the bug appears to be resolved. BTW the update was rolled out on 9 September and I advised many other forum users who experienced this issue who after update don't face this bug now. Just an fyi.

  • Hi there,

I'm afraid the issue with Fenix 5 is still there.

I removed all tracks, POIs, and activities from the watch except one dummy activity.

    Result is still:

  • Thank you for updating the software and attempting again, here is a great troubleshooting article for the device not properly syncing My Device Is Not Syncing Data to the Garmin Connect App

  • Finally it works again. Thanks.

I run through the article you mentioned several times. But that doesn't solve the problem. Only thing that helped finally was to connect the watch to a PC again and delete all '.fit' files that are not there by default. Since then syncing works again.

Kind of factory reset without loosing all user settings.

  • With an older device like the Fenix 5 it could have been a space limitation that was preventing that sync, which makes sense if removing the .fit files seems to have resolved this.
