Starting with the October 8th 2025 5.18 Android release, notifications sent from phone to watch no longer vibrate the watch.

I wear a Garmin Forerunner 255 and use a Google Pixel 9A with the latest version of Android as well as the most up to date security release. 

 If I set a timer or alarm on the watch, it will vibrate at the conclusion of said timer/alarm, but all notifications received on the phone sent to the watch simply do not vibrate it.

It is not related to “do not disturb”, that setting is turned off.

I downgraded to the 5.17.2 and the watch started to vibrate on phone notifications again. Therefore, as far as I can tell it is a software bug with Garmin Connect version 5.18.

EDIT: This seems to be related to Androids own "Do Not Distrub", previously Garmin Connect would ignore Androids Do Not Disturb setting, but now it is following it.

I have tried to escalate this to the Garmin Android Dev team (reachable at [email protected] - I'd suggest people also try to reach out), but the person who responded to my emails was unable to understand the issue, even after pointing them to this forum post & others on social media.

    I am having this same issue. No vibrations for notifications at all. I have a Fenix 6 sapphire.

    It works according to the phone settings. If the "do not disturb" function is enabled on the phone, the watch will not vibrate either. This is not good, as the whole point was that the phone would always be silent and only the watch would signal.

    Since upgrading to the latest version of the Garmin connect app (8 October 2025), when my phone is in DO NOT DISTURB MODE, notifications do not vibrate or light up my Fenix 7s Solar watch screen, the notification icon on the watch face increases by number (eg goes from 0 to 1, or 1 to 2 etc) but it does it silently, exactly as it would occur as when “do not disturb” is turned on on the watch or "sleep mode" is on on the watch, but the watch will not vibrate or light up. It is definitely to do with DO NOT DISTURB mode on my phone, because I have a CGM app I use for monitoring blood sugar levels, on my phone I have set that app up to override DO NOT DISTURB mode so that it will always notify me, even when DO NOT DISTURB is on. This app is now the only app which causes my watch to vibrate and light up when my phone is in DO NOT DISTURB mode. Both my phone, my watch and my connect app are using the latest versions
    Phone: Samsung S25 One UI 8.0 Android 16
    Watch: Fenix 7s Solar- latest software
    Connect app: Latest version 8 October 2025

    I can confirm that all my settings are set up correctly and it is only after installing the latest Connect app version (8 October 2025) that this issue started happening. It seems there are other users reporting this too, see this post on reddit: www.reddit.com/.../

    Please release a fix for this urgently. The ability for my watch to alert me even when I have accidentally left my phone in do not disturb mode, or the ability for my watch to discreetly notify me when my phone is in do not disturb mode for a meeting is probably the feature that I loved MOST on my Fenix watch.... and now it doesn't do it anymore.

    Or, if there is no fix the app coming - could you please tell me how to downgrade my app?

    I found out why. I am just not sure if it is broken or a feature. Actually, when Yours Do not disturb on phone is on , you get no vibration or pop out notification. With DND off, You do.

    Yeah but that's not ideal, what if I want discreet notifications on my watch when circumstances require keeping my phone silent?

    Also, I just found out that my watch still vibrates when my phone rings in do not disturb mode, as this is inconsistent behaviour with messages not making it vibrate in Do Not Disturb mode, it must be a bug, not a feature. I've raised a support ticket with garmin, I suggest everyone else does so too

    Not for me.  I do not use do not disturb on my phone and just verified that it is still off.

    I need the old behavior back.

    Setup: Fenix 7 Solar with a Google Pixel 8 Pro. The phone is in Do Not Disturb mode 24/7; this worked for years but has recently stopped, as reported.
