Garmin Connect - music player's audio stays muffled after audio prompt and wont turn back to normal volume

I am having issue in the Garmin Connect application from past few days where the music like Spotify or any other music players audio stays muffled after a Audio Prompt during any activity tracking like running. Normally after the Audio Prompt is finished the music audio would automatically go back to normal volume but now it stays muffled. If I pause and start the audio again then it comes back to normal but again after a audio prompt from Garmin Connect will keep it muffled. This issue only started few days back - I have tried everything including restarting the watch, reinstalling Garmin Connect app but nothing works. Can anyone advise?

  • I'm using Pixcel 6a and have had the same issue since the June 17 update.

  • Same here.  Running with a clip on bluetooth speaker, lap alert on km 1 will bring down music volume and stays there.  Stop and start music, normal volume again.  Theb repeats every km. 

    I also just switched phone from a Sony Xperia 1 III on Android 13, to the Xperia 1 VI on Android 14.  I initially thought it may be related to the OS.

  • I have a thread started in the FR955 forum. It is not decreasing volume in my case, but pause the music player Spotify. I have to unpause it every time. I am trying to figure out what is the cause: the watch, the connect app, or my jabra elite active buds. I suspect more and more it is the connect app. WHich version are you on? My starting post in the fr955 forum:

    During runs earbuds are connected to phone and watch

    Old situation: While running I listen to Spotify on my phone and get tempo and heartrate audio prompts on regular basis. My audio from spotify is paused, audio prompt is played, spotify is unpaused again so I can listen further.

    New situation (started last week): Audio prompt pause Spotify, but does not start it again. I have to manually unpause it.

    With runs of two hours, it is really *** because the HR prompt is every three minutes, and tempo prompt every km. So about 60-65 time manual unpause :-(

    It must be a setting somewhere, but I cannot find it in the watch, nor in Garmin Connect nor in Jabra Elite app.

    Anyone can help me out?

  • If you pause the music and then play, using the earphone, the volume goes up again. But it's mandatory a fix in the Connect App.

  • Got the same problem. Tested it with several earphones and volume only stays muffled when using Garmin Connect. Solved by disabeling the voice lap updates but that is not a desireable solution. Need an update to Garmin Connect to fix the issue.

  • Definitely version 5.2 from the Connect App is causing this. Anyone know what is the best way to submit the issue to Garmin Sofware department?

    Anyone know a trick to go back to v5.1 again?

  • Went back to 5.1 and just tried it with wireless buds while riding the bus, the music volume comes back normal after the lap alert.

    downloaded the apk from apkmirror.  uninstall the app on phone.  manual install the apk.  setup.  reboot.
