Can't set-up Garmin pay

Hi Everyone

I have a problem probably with the GCM and Garmin Pay service. If i'd try to add Credit card everytime i get message "setup failed to prepare fenix 6 pro for garmin pay, please try again "

I get similar message on f7pro watch and f6pro

Moreover, the whole process stops at the beginning and does not even reach the moment of entering the card data.

What i did to fix this problem

1. restored the watch's factory settings

2. Downgraded fw to 26.00 on F6Pro

3. Reistalled  the Garmin Connect app on my phone.

4. Installed an older version of garmin connect

5. set up a GP service on another phone

6. Removed the watch from the garmin connect app _ garmin express + garmin accounts on the website - and added again - ineffective

7. Tried to set up GP both wifi and cellular data

8.  Added the watch to a test-created garmin account - the error does not appear

8. Adding the watch to another person's garmin account - the error does not display.

I've no idea what should i do to fix this problem?

Any suggestions?

Thx in advanced

Tom

  • The same with my FR255. Did you solve it? I even contacted garmin support, for now they reply didn't help.

  • It is a mess. I had 4 cards working. They all disappeared from the watch. Depending on where I went in Garmin connect - More - Garmin Pay or - Device - Garmin Pay, the cards are still there or not...

It was impossible to add the cards back to the watch. Garmin told me it is a problem with my bank, but of course they were wrong, 4 banks in 2 countries cannot be all the problem at the same time...

At the end what worked for me was to remove them from Garmin Pay completely and add them again.

All this happened AGAIN since... I asked Garmin if they remove the cards during firmware update but they told me that they do not remove them on purpose, so it is a bug and asked me to report it next time it happens...

  • Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution to my problem. I reported it to Garmin's local tech support but they weren't able to help me. As you can see on the official forum, no one from Garmin has even tried to solve the problem. Half a year has passed and nothing indicates that this will change, so I think the next equipment will not be from Garmin.
