Cannot log-in on Android Garmin Connect

I recently got a new phone (Pixel 8).  I have installed and tried to log-in onto the Garmin Connect Mobile app, but keep getting the same error message.

I have already tried the following steps:

  • Turn off Wi-Fi
  • Clear Storage & Cache
  • Force Stop
  • Uninstall and re-install App
  • Change Authentication Domain
  • Clear Storage & Cache on Chrome
  • Turn-off and turn-on phone
  • Change password

I keep getting the same error message:

Unable to Continue - 400: diauth.garmin.com/.../token

I used to be able to log-in fine on my old phone (Motorola Edge 30 5G), however, I now seem to get the same error on this phone.  I also get the same error for the 'Connect IQ' app from Garmin.

I have no issues logging in on the https://www.garmin.com/ website.  When I try to log in on the https://connect.garmin.com website, I get an 'Looks Like Our Laces Came Undone' error.

I am running out of ideas, anyone that can help?

  • Have they fixed this for you? I'm in the same boat with a 2 month old ticket and no progress

  • No they haven't.

They ended up asking me for videos of it not working (which was a bit sketchy, because it shows my password...), both on my own phone and two other devices, but they haven't managed to fix it.  I now basically get an email every month / other month asking me if it is still not working, which is not very helpful.

  • Okay that doesn't look good. I was holding off buying a few more garmin stuff but this just means I'm no longer buying anything from them.

Its strange that we can login to the garmin website using the same account, but garmin connect is simply not working. That narrows it down a lot but somehow they can't figure it out.

  • Have any of be able to fix this issue?, Garmin support team (agents and Development team), have been trying to find a solution for almost 2 months and nothing yet.  Any idea?

  • Have anybody being able to fix this problem?, I have been exchanging mail with support team during 2 months and no solution until now.  Any idea?

  • No fix for the bug.  A workaround is to create a new account, that solved it all for me.

I have emailed them again to let them know I can create and log into a new account, but haven't heard back since.  In this email I also asked them to transfer my data from the old to the new account - not sure if that's something they will do...

  • Thanks for your quick response, and so bad to here that no fix yet.  I asked then if will be an option to create a new account and then migrate the data from old account to the new one, but they said that process will take more time than fix the bug, but now seeing the time that you have been waiting for fix, a new account become a quicker solution.

  • I solved mine, I had to go into the garmin account and make sure the address is correct. For some reason my address became invalid and that was causing my login issues.

  • Was it the country setting that had to be set correctly? https://www.garmin.com/account/profile

  • For me both country and address. Then it just started working after that.
