Last year Mexico decided not to have Daylight Savings Time in general (some communities bordering US kept it) but here in Mexico City where I live we are now at time zone UTC-6 all year round. When the first Sunday in April this came and the clock did not change all Garmin devices here showed the incorrect time (DST still active) but it turned out that a new Time Zone Map (release 32) was already available. It didn't solve all my problems especially on my Fenix 6 but now after two TZ maps with additional corrections (I have release 34) I think everything is working as intended in the watch but not in Garmin Connect on my phone (or the Connect webpage for that matter).
One problem that remains is that the displayed time on any uploaded activity with GPS is still wrong (one hour ahead) so I guess that whatever Garmin server is processing the data does not have an updated TZ map itself? For activities without GPS (like Strength) I get the correct time when I select "Upload Time Zone" to GMT-06:00 Central America (Mexico is technically speaking not Central America but North America) but not when I select GMT-06:00 US & Canada. I can live with this but what is the difference, that DST is most likely active in GMT-06:00 US & Canada at the moment?
For non-recorded activities there is also a funny discrepancy (in the connect app, not on the watch itself!). When I check my sleeping hours for example the start/stop are showing the correct time but when I check the HRV status the start/stop (which should match the sleeping time stamps) is shown with DST meaning one hour ahead... And I just noticed that any "Challenge" I participate in ends one hour prematurely so also here it appears that DST is used.
Is anyone else (in Mexico most likely) seeing the same behavior?
