Calories not added to Garmin Connect

I recently switched from an edge 530 to 540 and also from a forerunner 745 to an 265. Before the calorie count would match the recorded activities. When I added up the activity calories  it'd match the active calories in the calorie section.

Now, with the new devices it looks like the calorie count from the forerunner is being used, instead of using the recorded calories on my edge (based on a power meter, so it's way more accurate.

As you can see here them 100km ride recorded a calorie burn of 2494 of which 2245 were active ones. In the calories secrion it says I have 1891 active calories.

How do I get Garmin Connect to use the calories burned from the actual activity?

  • Did some more research and now understand physio trueUp has been replaced on both my new devices by unified training status. I can now select a primary wearable and a primary training device. Both were set to the 265. I now set the 540 as my primary training device. I hope in the future 265 activity calorie data will be overwritten by the 540, which actually recorded it.

Will keep this updated till everything works as I want it to be. It might help others Blush

  • Also had a similar issue. Recorded a run on my Fenix 7 on the same day I recorded a bike ride on my Edge 540. Only looks to have given me the calories for one of the activities, but I guess its likely to be that there was no calorie recording at all during the ride for my watch, so its given me just base calories for the hour or so I was on the bike and not included the calories from the 540's activity. The watch is set to my primary device.

  • It will take the calories I think from whatever device you have configured to be your primary training device.

  • That's what I'd expect as well. I set my 540 as primary training device.

I did a short ride today and after the ride was uploaded, I could see the calorie-count was updated correctly. Then my 265 synced and my calorie count dropped back to what my watch had recorded during the ride (I did not record the activity on my watch, but I did wear it). As someone else pointed out more people have reported this issue. I hope Garmin can fix this bug asap...

  • Same problem here... Just started to use the 840 over my old 830. Garmin F7x as primary, but after my rides with the 840 it still uses the count on my wearable. This must be a Physio True up Bug??? I am also using My Fitness Pal sync and it is all wrong and way to Low calorie count....

  • Same problem with the 1040, 1500 calories burned during activity (power meter) not counted in the active calories because my main activity tracker is my 955..

Also it correct my fitnes pal and take away all my calories

    Please fix this asap

  • Same problem here... From 830 to 840 and the Forerunner 955.

  • No, there's nothing we as users can do. It's a bug only Garmin can/should fix.
