Problems after new Garmin Connect update

After installing latest version of Garmin Connect to Android (4.59), my rides were not able to syncronize from my Edge 830 to my phone. I was still able to receive text messages on the Garmin unit from the phone and upload routes from the phone to the Garmin unit. I then tried to unpair phone and Garmin unit, and pair them again, and now I was not able to pair them at all. Next thing I tried was to uninstall Garmin Connect on the phone and install it again, still no luck. I then tried to reset my phone to factory settings and install Garmin Connect again, still no luck. I tried to connect to my old Edge 810, and again I was not able to pair the unit with Garmin Connect.

I'm able to connect to several other bluetooth devices without any problems, so it can't be my phone's bluetooth that is malfunctioning. I then tried to figure out if it was my Garmin unit that was broken, but pairing to my wifes iPhone was sucessfull.

Any others that has experienced problems after installing latest version Garmin Connect for android?

Hi e7andy, yes, every time I try to pair I make sure to remove it from paired Bluetooth devices on the phone. Looks like there is a bug in their new update for Android.

Have you removed the Edge from bluetooth in the phone before you try to pair it?

Yes, I think there is indeed some problem with some Edge models. Yesterday I advised another user to downgrade the app to the previous version from an APK archive (for example apk-mirror.com), and it indeed helped. You can try it too. Otherwise, probably the only other way is contacting the Support, reporting it to them, and hoping they'll fix it soon.

same problem. can't pair Edge 530 with Connect 4.59 on Android 12, no problem with Android 11 (on other phone). noticed that in some point my Edge 530 are not syncing via Connect and unpair it, but now can't pair back - suppose did everything via a lot of troubleshooting lists with no success...

Same problem. I removed my edge 830 from app and now I can't pair it anymore. Tried to do the same with iPhone and it pared immediately

hello there, thanks to redgloss, I've managed to fix 530 connection issue by rolling back Connect App to v4.58.1 (from apkmirror)

PS don't forget to disable autoupdate in playmarket
