'Log Calories in MFP' button opens MyFitnessPal website in a browser and not the App

Yesterday for no apparent reason the 'Log Calories in MFP' button opens MyFitnessPal website in a browser and not the MyFitnessPal App as it has always done previously.

I have made no changes to either account credentials.

Here's what I've tried to resolve it:

I disconnected the two accounts and reconnected -no change.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the MFP app - no change
I uninstalled the reinstalled the Garmin Connect app - no change
I have compared the permissions for both apps on my Wife's phone (we have identical phones) and they are the same.

Any data I enter into the MFP app is synced and reflected in the Garmin Connect app but no matter what I do I can't get the MFP app to launch when I click 'Log Calories in MFP' button.

In addition to this when I am directed to the MFP website to log calories I'm always taken to the same page which is the shared food diary of a person I've never heard of and not my own. Fortunately for this person her diary is marked as private so I'm denied access.

Has anybody else experienced this and if so do you have a solution please

Yes it was working fine yesterday and I have never had this problem before.

Anyone else having the issue when selecting the log my calories which usually take you to the MFP app now it's taking me to the website? Anyone else having this issue or know of a fix so the MFP app pops up instead???

Hi there, am having the same problem, started about 8hrs ago, have tried unlinking and relinking - all data shows in both, have tried uninstalling the myfitnesspal app and reinstalling. Same result everytime I have tried to go into my calories it takes me to the website not to the app.

+1. One thing that I noticed was that Garmin Connect was updated 2 days ago, MFP 3 days ago. One or the other might have introduced a new bug...

Did you try opening the MFP app and entering the Calories there?

Entering the food in MFP isn't a problem. Connect used to launch MFP, it stopped a few days ago.

Why do you need to launch MFP from Connect? Personally I always enter the food and calories directly in the MFP app. You can keep the MFP app in the background. Or use MFP's widget for entering the food or calories.
