"an error has occured"

I got a new Vivoactive 4s and created an account at the Garmin Connect App.

Whenever I login, I get the message "an error has occurred" over again so that I cannot do anything anymore. It will stop whenever I turn out the internet and start again when I turn it on. 

Of course I re-installed and re-started the app several times but nothing seems to work. 

Any ideas what is going on and what I can do?
