Until last week I had no problems syncing garmin edge 520 to Connect on smartphone LG4. Now will not work. I have tried everything deleted all BT cache and data restarted phone. Pairing via the Connect app causes Connect to stop and crash. What is going on.

Successfully pairs and syncs via Connect on iPad.

I updated the app yesterday. Today in the morning I can't sync my vivoactive 1. In Play Google (spanish) there are a lot of negative feedbacks about the same issue.

To use my Garmin I have desinstalled the app and I installed an old apk that I have stored in te mobile phone.

If you hae uptaded the app probably have the same issue than me.

  • IME, you can't have two phones/tablets trying to connect to the same Garmin watch - you'll get pairing and sync issues. Power off all devices except the ONE you're trying to sync with.

I have the same lg4 phone and an edge 510 with the same issue, full factory reset of phone and 510 has not resolved the issue, problems started about a week ago, previously never been a problem connecting

If you suspect a bug in the recent version of Garmin Connect, you can always install an older version of the app, and test it with. Have a look at the last tip in the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide for more detailed hints how to do it.

  • Same issue.  For past 2 years connection worked.  I would often have to toggle bluetooth but it still worked. About a week ago it crashed for good. I have attempted numerous times to pair the device but keep getting a message, 'Unfortunately, Connect has stopped' on my phone after the the pairing # screen appears.

I've tried numerous suggestions, even did a complete factory reset of both the Garmin and Phone.  BTW, The phone still connects flawlessly with my Vivoactive 3. I successfully paired the device to a friends Apple phone with no problems.

Given that the device pairs with other phones, and my droid phone still works with Vivoactive i am inclined to conclude that the app is flawed.  As far and can tell, this is the most up to date version since I just downloaded it off the app store.  I'm not able to download an older version.

Yea Garmin, so what's going on?

  • I'm not able to download an older version.

Why? Did you try the websites listed in the troubleshooting guide?

  • Thanks for your help and quick reply.  Had to do some research on how to download/install older version.  Finally figured it out out and it seems to work! I was able to pair/connect the device.  I'll take the bike out for spin tomorrow to see if it uploads/syncs my ride.

Thanks, looks a bit involved so will investigate the procedure and try it.
