Vivofit 3 sync and display issues

Hello,

I didn't use my Vivofit 3 since approximatively 2 years, I tried to add it to a different account on my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge at the beginnig of september and am having many troubles :

  • Sync :
    • I succeed to pair my watch with my phone but sync is not working
    • It detects my watch is syncronizing bug there are no datas loaded to the app
  • Display :
    • Since I paired my watch to my account, it doesn't show date/hour anymore
    • It only shows steps, goal and pair (I can try to sync by pairing... even if syncronizing don't also work !)
    • I tried to change my watch settings by it's not changing anything

My watch software version is 3.40 (the last one), I tried several Garmin Connect versions (dowloading older apk) but didn't see any improvement.

Il changed my Vivofit 3 battery, made a resest by pressing the button 20 seconds... It's not working better. I noticed that when I'm on the demo mode (pressing the button when it's showing "about' informations) it displays other datas (hour, date, distance,...).

I also tried using different devices (same results on both android smartphones, can't pair with Ipad).

I suspect that the problem is comming from the watch software but I don't know how to downgrade it. May be there's a way using Garmin Express on a computer but I don't have the ant stick.

Of course I tried to contact Garmin Support but I didn't get any answer...

Can anyone help me please ? My watch is currently totally useless...

    For sync problems, check out the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide

    It detects my watch is syncronizing bug there are no datas loaded to the app

    If syncing does not work, there cannot be any data. If syncing works, and you did not remove the watch from the old account, the data lands in the original account. You have to remove it there - follow the instructions from the support document Data is Missing from My Garmin Account After Syncing

    Thanks for your answer.

    I checked my old account, the watch was still there but shown as "removed". I deleted it from this account but there was no change while syncing with my new account : arrows are turning, it seems to be loading... But still nothing to show.

    Have you any idea about my display issues with my watch ? I didn't see any post related to a similar problem, it looks like no one else has the same problem...

  • Since Vivofit 3 does not have any GPS, it needs the connection to the GC Mobile phone app to sync the time, so you have to fix your sync problem first - check out the troubleshotting guide linked previously, for numerous tips.

    I just purchased a new vivofit 3. I'm having exact same issue. I returned the 1st one and was sent a replacement. The garmin support team has been working with me to try to fix this. They did a patch however still cannot get it to sync. It shows added however the display only shows steps taken, steps till goal met and pair.

    I think this maybe a universal issue?

    I'm still using my vivofit 2.

    I tried lots of tips given in the guide Trux has mentioned without any result.

    Is it possible to get the patch to try ?

    It really seems to be an issue with the latest Vivofit 3 software version.

    I contacted garmin support through chat. I tried again last night to get the vivofit 3 to sync but no success.

    I would go thru the help area of the app with your issue and hopefully you will get a technical support person to look into your device and issue.

    Since I just purchased this, if I cannot get it to work in the next few days I'm returning and getting a refund.

    Just for information, I tried to sync my watch a moment ago and I don't know what happened but sync worked !

    There was no update of the application last days and my watch software version is still 3.40 so I don't know what has been done but the problem has been resolved !
