September weekend 5k badge (and others?)

To get this badge you needed to run 5k between Sept 11 and 13th. Ran 10k on 11th.

How come the badge wasn't allowed?

  • Thanks. It looks good. There is no upper limit for the distance. The requirement is to at least run 5k.

    What you can try is to do an edit to the activity, change the title or similar and then save. That should trigger a new evaluation of your activity for the badge.

  • Just found the same problem.  Joined the challenge a couple of weeks ago - Connect shows it as a "past challenge". On 11 Sept. I recorded a 5km run (and, separately, another - I ran out 5km and then back). Both runs are showing as 5km runs on Connect. The total 10km distance is also recorded/included against my September 50mile(80km) challenge.

    As it happens, I already edited the name of each run from what Connect automatically called it because I have a name for that route.

    But...no badge.

    I only uploaded this morning but don't see why that should make a difference - I was also awarded a walking level badge from walks I recorded since I last synched. I 'refreshed' but that made no difference.

    Not a big deal, but would be nice to get it since I earned it.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

  • I did a test with my 5k challenge badge. I exported the FIT file and then imported into a test account which had joined the challenge. I didn't get the 5k challenge badge either. It looks like there is something wrong here. Maybe the "window" for being awarded with it has closed. It shouldn't matter when you sync for these challenge badges, but it is a good idea to sync as often as possible to discover and maybe avoid any issues like these.

    I suggest that you contact Garmin support with this issue.

  • I sync daily, so that's not the issue either.

    How do you contact Garmin support?

  • Thanks for trying that.  I did wonder if it was because I synched outside the challenge period but that doesn't appear to be the case looking at the other post.

    Let's see what Support say.

    Let us know what support has to say because I had the same problem as well. The only issue I can think of with mine not awarding the badge is because I joined the challenge after completing the run?

     Me too...joined 10 minutes after doing 3.20 miles (which is just over 5k) and haven’t been awarded the badge yet! I did it during the time scale too.

    The annoying part is that I have joined other challenges during the timescales and haven’t had any problems with being awarded the badge.

    Oh and I need the accolade as I’m in a competition with my son...every point counts!!!!!
