Data still from 23 and 24 July

Hi - I still have missing data from 23 and 24 July. Heart rate data stops at 0400 GMT on 23rd and doesn't restart until midnight 26th. Same for sleep data. Step data is also missing, and I was on day 51 of a 60 day challenge to meet my target!! I ran on the 24th and this synced ok though. Insights don't have my data overlayed on the graphs either.

I have a Forerunner 235, missing (step data at least) was on phone until overwritten. I kept getting a message to say "sync was successful but data will take time to update". I also downloaded the data file for safe keeping. When will the data be realigned again by Garmin, and I get my step challenge badge?!

  • Have you synced with Garmin Express? That seems to fix some issues for people with sync issues.

    Same issue with me also ...,I didn't synchronized data from 20th july ,meanwhile this garmin outage issue happened hence I an not able to sync data from 20th july to 26th july ,from 27th july onwards is is synchronizing well & smooth . Data from this period is seen in my watch but neither in garmin connect not in Garmin express .

  • I am missing steps from the 23 and 24th as well.  I have the Forerunner 235 too. Tried syncing with Garmin Express and that didn't update them either.  Frustrating because I'm trying to earn the 60 day goal getter badge for hitting my goal and should be 30 days right now.  However, only getting credit for 12 days today!

  • Thanks...I worked through all of the steps on the link from Garmin and they are still missing. I don't see them in the history interface on my watch anymore as it appears to only keep steps for about a week.  During the outage, I did manually upload my activities to Strava but it didn't capture the steps. 

  • Well, if you dd not back up the data during the outage, you are likely out of luck. Should a similar outage happen again, make sure to make regular backups of the entire GARMIN folder, during the server outage.

  • Issue solved. I followed the advice of updating watch and Garmin Express software then resyncing, but still no good. I finally tried the Garmin Support Chat and just got my missing two days of step data added by Garmin. Because I continued meeting my daily step target, I got the 60 day badge automatically! The operative I spoke to (Craig) couldn't have been more helpful. I strongly recommend you give them a go.
