Virtual climb badge

  • why virtual climb badge ( 735 ft or 1000ft) were not awarded after complete a more than 1000 ft floor climb activity?
  • It is. Seems it's only the 735ft.

  • I also have the same issue, only with the 735feet badge... Disappointed

  • I also have the same issue,

And the same answer applies to you too - see my previous post. However, if you do not manage to fix it yourself, and do not want to wait till the Support investigates and eventually fixes the issue, simply make the Floor Climb activity again, this time with a sufficient reserve above the required threshold. Worked fine for me.

  • Thanks, I have tried the following and unfortunately they did not fix this particular issue, if anyone else would wonder:

    • Edit the activity (I tried with calorie and title)
    • Change activity type to another and back to Floor Climb (I tried with Cardio)
    • Export activity to .FIT format, delete the original activity and re-import from FIT file

I have contacted support but no response yet. Will let you know tho. I might will also try to do it with more margin as well. Thanks for the suggestions so far! Slight smile

  • I had issues and so did my wife where we completed the activity in the house. We have different Garmin watches but both watches did record the altitude gain correctly, but we both didn't get the badge,. Last night I accidentally found a work around which seems to activate the badge. If you go into your floor climb activity you will see the height you climbed. Write it down. Change your activity to walking and scroll down the activity details and you will see the tab more data. Select that again scroll through the data and change elevation gain from zero to the height climbed value you have written down. Save the walking activity come out and go back in and change it back to a floor climb activity. The badge now appears!?

  • I couldn't do it either, but it helped me turn on GPS and do the activity outside

  • Thanks for the reply and suggestion!

This worked for me. In my case, I had an issue with the 1.000 feet badge.

I logged 104 floors which should equal 1040 feet and converted to 317 meters elevation in my case, however there appears to be some strange rounding off happening ....

When I converted the activity to walking, the number of elevation meteres showed up as 300 rather than 317 (which equals 984 feet and not 1.000, which is needed to trigger the badge).

So yes... in order to trigger the badge, I recommend to reach at least 1100 Feet OR 335 meters OR 110 floors to be on the safe side.

    Good luck all!

  • This workaround did the trick for me too! Thanks! Slight smile

  • Please check and let me know!

    Nice climb!

Unfortunately I see nothing wrong with the Activity - all parameters seem to match well the conditions. However, Garmin recently changed the way the badges are awarded, so I am no more certain about the exact algorithm used. I know for example that previously the Elevation Gain was the primary condition, while recently it seems to be rather the Ascent instead (which is in fact what it ought to be since the beginning). However, in your case both of them are all right. The date, the type fo the Activity, the numer of floors - everything is fine.

So I am sorry, I cannot help in your case, you'll need to contact the Support asking them for help. If you manage, please let us know the outcome.
