Heart rate upload problem with straight line

Hi!

Occasionally my Fenix 5S uploads a "straight line" in the heart rate graph.

In the watch the "last 4 hour" heart rate history will show correctly, yet upon upload, there is a problem, and it is graphed as a straight line.

The attached photos show an upload where it is clear that the heart rate history is in the watch, yet uploads as a straight line.

Things to note:

- heart rate data may upload and show correctly inside an activity in the app, e.g. a run, yet still appear as a straight line in the overall daily heart rate graph

- restarting the watch helps most often for about 12-24 hours, yet randomly starts occuring.

- below photos taken at time of upload to app, 11pm, 25 jan 2020.

Thankful for a solution!

Regards John

  • Occasionally my Fenix 5S uploads a "straight line" in the heart rate graph.

It could be perhaps a problem of a full memory of the watch, stoping hence the recording. I would try removing some old activity files from the folder \GARMIN\Activities on your watch (over the USB cable).

Or perhaps the watch entered the power-saving mode, limiting so some of the recording. The Last 4hr graph and the data for sync may occupy different parts of the memory, hence the discrepancy. Did not you observe that it happens when the watch is low on power?

I also have the same problem. Most of my day in fact a straight line. I have recently tried to use the wrist heart rate because I was interested in my sleep patterns but because the heart rate drops all the time the sleep info is useless.

Is this a bug or is it just useless.

I have the strap securely fitted.

Same here! Any news on it?

  • A possible reason is that your device is associated with multiple accounts. It frequently happens for example when you reinstall the application, and inadvertently sign up a new account instead of signing into the original one. Follow the instructions from the support document Data is Missing from My Garmin Account After Syncing to resolve the issue.

  • Unfortunately, I still get this problem occuring regularly.

I have tried everything above, yet to no avail. Restarting the watch always helps for a while, though, so this for me has been the best thing to do.

It'd be interesting to hear of anyone who has solved this problem totally, though!

Please post if you have this problem, and also, if you have managed to solve it!

  • I have exactly the same problem on my fenix 5x.

I can't solve the problem for a couple of months now
