silent notifications or filter rules for notification

Is it possible to filter the watch notifications?

I know about per android app filtering, but I would like to have on a lower level. To add some manual rules (even with coding) to filter which ones can pass.

Also many Android notifications don't make a sound but add an item to the phone status bar. Filtering these out from the watch this would be great. E.g. whatsapp muted conversations, data connection lost, etc.

    Sure, but you won't be able to set "manual rules" as OP requested. Automatically filtering out notification channels that are set to silent should be enough for most users, though.

    At least one of is not fully understanding this (it could be both; it could also just be me!). This solution exactly gives me what I want... based on this tip, I have updated the Garmin Connect watch notification setting to ignore "Silent" Android notifications. so, staying with my example, when I get an extended family text from a conversation I've marked to be Silent within the Messages app, Garmin Connect no longer forwards it to my Garmin Watch. 

    It seems that any app that has native control for you to set some of its notifications to be Silent in Android can now be filtered out to NOT be forwarded to your watch.

    I did a quick search on some key terms to see if I was in left field here and found this article which seems to indicate there are 3rd party tools that can further refine this workaround with an app called FilterBox. I just skimmed it, but this seems promising to me, "FilterBox, in short, lets you create complex rules — kind of like Gmail filters for your phone notifications. Those rules then dictate exactly what types of notifications are able to reach you in different sorts of circumstances." www.computerworld.com/.../android-app-sanity.html

    This is pretty frustrating, Garmin should support native Android silent notifications. I get tons of distracting messages from group chats, but cannot disable then without dialing everything.

    I just got Android 14 on my Samsung device, but sadly there's nowhere to disable silent notifications for Connect on my Special Access menu. I'm guessing Samsung didn't implement it, so it would be great for Garmin to do so.
