Connect App won't add device - Android

device: Instinct

phone: Pixel 4 XL (android)

My watch cannot connect to my phone via the connect app. I'm not sure when the issue began, but I first noticed last week when I was not getting any notifications on my watch.

The Instinct will connect via the phones Bluetooth settings manually, but not via the app to sync data to my account.

Here's what I've tried:

  • full reset of my device (including all data)
  • uninstalled and reinstalled the connect app
  • I've checked for app permissions on my phone, Bluetooth, contacts, location, etc
  • I've removed and added my watch from paired devices in my phone's Bluetooth settings multiple times

When I attempt to add my device in the connect app, I immediately get a message saying "Device Connection Error" and then nothing happens. I have attempted this more times than I can count with no results.
